I love puzzles like this.

I was going to say "Things that make me think are interesting," but that's not always the case. Sometimes things that make me think are frustrating and vile (like those f'n Sudoku abominations), and sometimes what interests me doesn't take a lot of thought, like forensic science.

Enlightenment. That makes a subject interesting to me, in the example of a subject that makes me think and frustrates me.

Books can be interesting, classic American lit for me ... but ... why ... ? Hm. Ok, in the case of Steinbeck, his descriptions paint lovely pictures in my head - I can see what he's expressing. The prose flows very well - it's not choppy or hard to follow. They tend to be depressing but that falls far behind the art of his writing.

Uh. What were we talking about again? I seem to have wandered off-course. (But I've been interested the whole time.)
