Yes!!  When I came accross that stuff, I was like, why does it have to be so hard?  If they'd spend as much time working on themselves as they did working on their game, they'd all be catches.  I've come accross gamers, and they usually have a lot going for them, but jeesh, they're always working an angle or a line or something.  It's like they can't just be themselves and have to have a gimmick for security.

I don't understand it.

Well, actually I do but I'm avoiding some really deep issues right now, so I ain't going there.

How about Kierkegaard's "Diary of a Seducer?" What a privilege (albeit a painful one, too) to be the object of that kind of creative/romantic thought and effort.

I think that was the ultimate lesson the book was getting at.

A lot of Neil's success was do to the fact that he simply didn't strive to learn precanned lines and angles, but the self improvements he made to himself. His style of dress, his confidence, his self image and self respect, his health and body figure.
"Style" was an altar ego of his own creation, a person he changed himself into, but still somebody that was based off his own natural personality. It was that and the growth and change of himself that got him the girl of his dreams at the end, not the precanned lines and social tactics.

I am a big Kierkegaard fan and will have to get around to reading it once my reading list has some room for philosophy in a few months. Thanks for the suggestion.

you couldn't pay me 100 dollars to use the bathroom in the back of a greyhound bus, much less get an orgasm from a strange man in one! Needless to say, I asked him to go back to his seat and at the station I hung out with the security guard.

Nothing unusual, just the typical stuff.  Sometimes girls will lie about their age, their intentions, their sexual orientation and being submissive to get in bed with you and/or your partner. Once in bed, they will lie about everything else.

"Pick those up for me, would you?" As I started to bend down to pick them up, she said, "lower." Getting down on my hands and knees, she put her heel on the back of my neck, and then asked me if I was free for the rest of the evening....

Well, with a come on like that, how could I refuse? We ended up spending the rest of the weekend in her hotel room. It was one of the nicest short term encounters I've had.
