dmc68 -> what is your definition of kink(y) (7/20/2004 5:44:55 PM)

To assist those of us who are debators (professional and otherwise) and need some structure definition.

EStrict -> RE: what is your definition of kink(y) (7/20/2004 5:48:29 PM)

Is this like the old joke, *What's the difference between kinky and perverted? Kinky is using a feather,, perverted is using the whole chicken*....?

MrThorns -> RE: what is your definition of kink(y) (7/20/2004 6:01:40 PM)

chuckles at the visual of all the damned feathers... yeah...thats right...cluck, bitch!

But alas...I digress..

Define kink? Gads. Kink can be anything. I'm sure my parents thought that they were pretty outrageous at some point anytime they saw each other naked. (Ok...maybe not...but this is my denial) Kink has evolved. Some people thought that oral sex was extremely kinky. Enough so as to pass laws making it illegal in some states. For me...good oral sex is a standard that I refuse to part with. But I dont think that my enjoying oral makes me kinky. It's all pretty relative. I'm sure that when my daughter is 30 and ready to have sex for the first time...(Again...MY denial...I'm okay with it) she will think that the things I find to be kinky...are old and boring.

The times....they are-a-changin'...

What is considered kinky is something that is not considering the sexual norm. The sexual norm is what society considers being normal or a congressman did not get caught doing the month before the election.

It depends on who you ask. For some people kink is anything beyond the missionary position. For others it is the missionary position.

Mmmm, yes.. The good old kinky missionary position.. Which also reminds me of a joke about this missionary in Africa and a black sheep.. *cough* Nevermind..

Kinky is all in what you think is kinky.. If it's kinky for you, then it's kinky. :)

Kinky to me, is pushing limits...going into extreme play. Normal things to me like bondage, beatings(my general term for whips, paddles and the like), wax, saran wrap, role play, violet wands, etc....are kinky to other people. I think kink is dependant on the person's perspective.

thanks for reading this, have a great day,

Thanatosian -> RE: what is your definition of kink(y) (7/21/2004 1:40:21 AM)

dammit, Sandy beat me to the punch(line)[:)]

kink is as kink does - what works for one person might not another (thinking on SherriA in another thread saying something along the lines of to her bathroom control is edge play while needles and blood and etc. are normal play)

Apply usual caveats here

kink for Me = men, hair,
rope and various steel utensils
like tweezers for starters

kiki blue -> RE: what is your definition of kink(y) (8/2/2004 8:03:42 AM)

Kink to me, encompasses the BDSM umbrella, and fetishes, and all that other fun stuff. I use the term kink more than BDSM, as it does cover more.

Plus, it sounds sexier [:)]

FatherMichael -> RE: what is your definition of kink(y) (8/2/2004 8:52:19 AM)

kink is always something forbidden. Defining it is like fingerprints, all you can do it is by a general database, noting the similarities, but without any neon-blinking answer which can be a hollywood square question.

With subs and particularly doms they have to be able to read their partner(s) kink without the clues spoken and otherwise given to them so the sex is everything everybody was hoping it would be when the took the shower before the date.

Accepting there is a whole-kink within the shaming of having someone confess their kink....things have to be divined because spelling things outright too often spoils things. And (I'm a southern man, so please understand my history/exposure with what I'm about to say) so much of the hardcore D/s lifestyle some women can't talk about it easily...they can do anything, but talking about it...well that is just "wrong" (that's personal wrong btw, save your letters of protest that nothing is wrong :)

I had a teacher who always said dom's need to be piano players, and be able to pick out a tune after hearing the first stanza...expierence has shown me she was right.

Leonidas -> RE: what is your definition of kink(y) (8/2/2004 10:16:37 AM)

My definition, and my definition only:

An act or a lifestyle is "kinky" when part of the alure or excitment of it is exactly because it is taboo. An example is anal sex. In this country, when you pop the little woman (yes, Angelika, goddamn it, or the little man) in the hiney, chances are at least part of the alure of it is exactly because it's "naughty". Hiney in the new millenium is like pussy was in the 50s. Elusive, hard to get, hard even to broach the subject of, and asking for it might meet with success, or disgust on the part of your partner. Not so in many third world countries (especially catholic ones). There, it's a cheap form of birth control that you don't have to buy from a store. Exact same act, but kinky in one context, not so in the other.

Take care of yourself

Anything that would get you put in jail by puritans.[:)]

Now I'll read the real response so I can disagree with everybody.[:D]

Oh, it is like Jazz. If you gotta ask, you'll never know.[:)]
