Now collarme.com has an AWSOME forum here, but i noted the chat room isnt too good. I never find more then 60-80 people, and as for the sub-romms, theres hardly any people in them. why doesnt anyone go to the chat room? i figure, theres SO MANY posters on the board, but why not go to the chat rooms and discuss your fetishes?

It might be because CM is designed for Internet Exploder and doesn't work well with other browsers. For exemple with Firefox you can't choose the colour of your profile. Just an example, the display is also very different, nicer on IE , but I'm used to Firefox' now so what the hell.

I think the chat rooms here are ok, but they suffer from the same problem male subs face everywhere: i.e. too many male subs and not enough Dommes.

i'm just not that comfortable in the chat rooms. Too much "this girl kneels before..." and "i'm a Master so you must kneel when you come into the room" It's more about finding an online partner then the actual discussion of relevant topics. i haven't been in the cm chatroom before so i could be wrong about this one.

I prefer message boards to chat room. So often chat rooms are filled with people doing cyber sex and it just gets in the way of a conversation.

Chat room dynamics are very different from discussion board dynamics. I prefer the longer lasting power of discussion forums and thought processes. Plus, I type really fast and furious and get accused of trying to control and take over chat rooms a lot because of it....despite the fact that I can't prevent anyone from typing anything they want to type.

I dont like the CM chatrooms but ive gone away from most of the bdsm chatrooma on most sites.

I find alot are full of spammers and crap and not really moderated.

The CM chatrooms are Java based so either allow Jave access to the net or update it or depending even install it.

i agree with this, plus so many more people can be reached via the boards who might not want to go to a chat. the boards are informative, usually considerate, and a great place to see what others think.

Thank you, if I hadn't been in so much of a rush I'd have mentioned the information content.

I think people are more careful in the board because their comments hang around and don't scroll off into oblivion.

I don't have time to chat. I get home, eat dinner and get maybe 30 min on the 'puter. I read what I want to read. Answer or post at my convenience and then get off and do other things.

I also have to agree that the content in chat rooms seems very small. It's like reading a letter that's made up of 'bullet statements'.

well, i use firefox and it works great. it loads the chat room and works fine. I never could use IE, ahhhh

as for the other replies, i feel a lot of guys are in there trying to either have cyber sex, or just try and get a girl, plus a lot of em are probably fakes. I mostly get PM's on another site because of my name, people think its a females name. i find mostly people dont even discuss bondage or fetishes in chats and just radnomly go off on a tangent. I just wanna chat about bondage and fetishes with others, like I do on there, but most everyone else has other ideas.

Everyone's responses so far have been pretty dead on. Many of the people in the chats lack the depth and quality of character that is to be found elsewhere on this site. It's all rampant horniness and little to no information, as well as implied coffee making <NOMC gracefully twirls towards the coffee maker and fetches Master a steaming mug of Kona, kneeling in utter submissiveness to present it to Him> types of crap. Chats compared to the message board is like McDonald's compared to an upscale authentic Italian restaurant. The chat's are fast, cheap and easy. The message boards may have some downsides, but overall we come off as a bit more classy.

Personally, like a couple others here, I can't follow chat rooms. You always come in in the middle of a conversation, or worse yet, several. Unlike the boards, there is no way to "catch up" and find out exactly what is going on.

I am another who dislikes chat intensely. It always comes down to the typical a/s/l, how big are your boobs, and what would you do to me if I was a bad boy. I am not even patient in private chat, and rarely bother. The last time I was in a cht room was by accident and that was when this site went down for a couple of days, and the only method of contact was one chat room which was maintained. It made Me dizzy.
I can't deal with it, so I don't.
