ORIGINAL: beargonewild I mean, Jay Wiseman, John Warren, Trevor Jacques and others all wrote BDSM themed books based upon their research and personal experiences. I agree with you entirely. In actuality for practioners in the field of relationships, sex therapists, and counsellors: their tools are mostly built around power over models. I think it is really a brilliant opportunity to think through thie whole concept of sexual power dynamics, both anthropologically, developmentally, in terms of a new angle on reward and punishment, revolutionary sexual politics, gender, ethnicity, ageism, conformity, labelling , exclusion, access, self-actualisation, spirituality, ritual, family dynamics. culture bias. ALL of these look different from the power exchange approach. Count me in.
