christine1 -> Wallyworld's Onion Conspiracy (5/4/2008 9:13:06 AM)

i haven't been to walmart in a few years because i kept getting overcharged for things.  i watch the register like a hawk when i'm shopping, and every single time, something would ring up for a higher price than was marked.

out of sheer desperation before my daughters surprise bday party last night i ran over for some candles and onions.  yup, both items overcharged, the onions by 6 dollars?  When i pointed out the error to the cashier she was so rude to me that my son who was with me stepped in, what a big cute galoot he is!  anyhoo, this caught the attention of a wandering manager who came over and defended the over pricing saying i must have read the prices wrong and that there was no way there could be a mistake in their computers.  i'm sorry but a 5 lb bag of onions that is clearly marked as 1.67 and then rings up as 7 bucks...i checked the onions and they were not gold plated.

i asked for my money back, then they told me i'd have to go to the customer service counter to do that.  i took my overinflated receipt there and waited in line behind the 20 people in front of me who looked pissed.  finally i walked out, losing the ten bucks they charged me...no more i tell ya, i'll never go back there again even if they are just down the street.

dealing with them was difficult and frustrating...is it a fucking blonde thing or what?

good grief, how many people don't catch these little mistakes and wallyworld walks away with a bulge in their pants?

ya know...this stuff really makes me mad. Mistakes happen with computers but that is NO excuse for the way you were treated. Perhaps the cashier could have politely called the manager who could have simply voided the sale and started over?

I guess Walmart does not have to be polite to their customers, considering they have put the competition out of business?

It's pretty sad that Wally world feels the need to pull this kind of scam when it's grocery prices are already so grossly inflated. I have yet to find one item in the grocery section at Walmart that is even comparable in price to the supermarket almost directly across the street. That's not even taking into account the lack of selection and general poor quality of Walmart's grocery items.
Walgreens is another store that routinely scans items at higher prices than those displayed. It's usually for a relatively small amount ($1.09 insterad of $0.99) so that most people either won't notice or won't go through the trouble of getting a refund. But considering the volume they sell, thtey're making a substantial producy by fleecing the public. I'd suggest that anyone getting ripped off contact their local State's Attornet's office.

You gave your daughter some onions for her birthday?

[:D]

It is irritating when Wal Mart, or anyone, does that, we work too hard for our money.

rofl...no i didnt' give her onions, but she loves them so, so i served them with the steaks.  as soon as i can figure it out, i'll send a pic of what i did give her...a little cute 4 legged furry monster.

and as far as being treated rudely at wallymart, there was no need for it, and no they don't need to overcharge...money is hard to come by these days it seems and i don't need to be flushing it down the wallyworld john.

i loath Walmart. Ohhhhhh Lord in heaven do not get me started on flippin Walmart! i don't have cable, or dish; i spend far to much time lost in the library cursing aloud after reading books on cooperate take over, then i wander home to watch PBS, so i can talk in my sleep about how ol' Sam would be rollin' in his grave from what Walmart has turned into!
My ex used to ban me from Walmart b/c when i did go in there i always made a scene. Me to the Walmart greeter: "Hey how are You, Walmart sucks ass!" As i pass the clothing area: "What five y/o made this, somebody give that child a raise". At the cash register: "i am sorry You had to take this job where women are under valued, repressed, and subjected to a 1950's work environment."
When a good friend of mine is bored and wants to see me cycle on station all he will say is: Walmart; and what do You know, there i go!
Walmart sucks, that's all i can say, sucky ass Wakmart!

christine1 -> RE: Wally world's Onion Conspiracy (5/4/2008 12:06:03 PM)

yes az....this zillgirl has learned her lesson!

maybe i should take the wig off and remove the make up and just go stomp their asses with my big green lizard feet?

ok nevermind, but it never hurts to thinkg big does it?

azropedntied -> RE: Wally world's Onion Conspiracy (5/4/2008 12:10:14 PM)

[sm=alien.gif]I say you shoulda done that when you were getting your money back ,but not giving them another penny for the rest of you life is much better . Let them choke on the 10 buxs , now you have to convert and open the eyes of 10 others and those then do 10 more then in time we can be rid of megalow mart  as seen on king of the hill .

christine1 -> RE: Wally world's Onion Conspiracy (5/4/2008 12:15:18 PM)

i just didnt' have anymore patience when i was trying to get my money back.  i didn't even take the onions and candles, i put them on the floor and walked out in disguist.  ran down the street to the albertsons store and got them there.

like others have said, what do they care about pricing and customer service if they've run the competition into the ground?  well i'll give them some competition in shopping their smaller competitors...hopefully others will too.

LadyRainfire -> RE: Wally world's Onion Conspiracy (5/4/2008 12:42:52 PM)

[sm=2cents.gif][sm=thanks.gif]  For those of us with family members who work for Albertson's, I'd like to take a moment and say "THANK YOU" for shopping at Albertson's, Christine! I have at least 3, possibly 4 or 5, family members who work there. Maybe 6 by now....

As for me, I'm a poop-disturber on over-charges and would have been in their face so bad... But then I worked in customer service for 18 years. I'd be calling a regional office, corporate, you name it. Yes, to some people I do have a bitch repuation... *grins* Ask my ex.... And his family.
