Status: offline 		Disclaimer: This isn't aimed at any specific person. Its just more of a recollection of thoughts & musings.

What is up with all these 20 something (note: insert irony here. I'm 27 lol) Dominants "requiring" tribute?

Don't ge me wrong. I don't have a problem giving someone a gift. But, they have to earn it. (Yes, its a screwed up terminology I'm using, but I don't mean that in the literal sense)

I would get someone like Ms Starlett or my friend Cynthia a gift before I give a so called "dominant" a tribute.

Why? Because they're real. They take the time to get to know someone. They don't demand it of someone in an initial email.

Seems more and more "dominants"  (specifically, the younger ones - pretty much anyone younger than myself) are getting lazier and lazier about finding their potential match.

/end rant.

Lol. Yeah, but its not even about that.

I just find it humorous, and wanted to see if anyone else had similar views.

Its almost like the comparison of giving a gift out of genuine desire, and giving a gift out of demand.

The gift(s) (both material & immaterial) has no care in it, if its given out of demand, compared to being given freely.

Status: offline 		Well, maybe they aren't looking for a match, maybe they are looking for a quick buck (or several quick bucks.) Just ignore it and roll on.

It's funny, but whenever I see the word "tribute", my mind imagines a retirement dinner party or an event where a person is being honored, so I always think, "heck yeah, I'd like a tribute!" Unless, of course, I was dead. Then it would be a memorial.

But yeah. Quick buck for the young cuties. Buyer beware and all that.

There are also a lot of Pro-Dommes on Collarme, who may throw up an ad in the Professional Services section, and give input from their point of view in the forums. Other than that, they don't make it a point to advertise and demand money.

Then, there are the girls you are running into, who have a 99% chance of NOT being the female pictured in the ad, don't contribute, and haven't the slightest clue what is going on. Those are silly hookers out to get 200$ from a few unsuspecting guys who haven't caught on yet.

Yeah, but its kinda hard NOT to run into them. They usually show up in the "recently online" portion of CM when you first login.You know where I'm talking about right?

It gives you a snippet of their profile & you have to click the profile link to view the full profile, etc. Kinda hard not to see it, its right there when you first log in...

Anyway, yeah, its always good for a chuckle. >.<

There is this wonderful feature called "hide".  Whenever some sissy profile pops up, I just click that HIDE button, and voila!  I never need to see it again.  I also use it for grossouts, female supremacist hunters, wankers, and people who piss me off generally.  My hide list IS very long, you're right!  It does help, though.

A friend of mine who used to pro domme in another part of the country, when the economy was better, would charge a fee for filling out her application, then apply it to the session if they showed up.  Worked wonders for screening those wankers who just want to get off on the idea of talking to a dominant woman but don't have the actual balls to show up to a meeting.  I can't imagine wanting to ask for something of a prospective FRIEND, but if I were still a pro domme, I would consider it for sure.

Status: offline 		I have Never paid a tribute ,but i have  given many gifts , entertained , taken  some out to dinner .People that hang out a shingle with a hand out looking for duckettes are not what i seek .They can pop up and advertise all they wish to i just am not a customer .I have nothing against them what so ever , i know and love many of them they are some fun  great people , i just do not visit there pro services .I will say this when they do come and buy stuff from me when i vend they are not one to quibble about the price ,they know what they want  and get it .I personaly dont care if your a Pro and try'n to get money at any age as a pro it just does not affect me , go forth and beat for dollars .

Status: offline 		I've fiddled around with the search parameters a couple times before due to this topic coming up so often.  Short answer:  It's what you have them set to.  I had to really limit my searches to come up with them being a majority of these sorts.  If the searches aren't limited to such a short age range + photos on, you come up with a good mix of various sorts of dominants listed.

When I keep my search setting neutral and let random profiles pop up when I open Collarme they barely ever show... I think I've seen one in the past couple months.

Actually I find it extremely sad that vulnerable people are fooled into sending money believing they are going to meet a real Domme. 

These women (if they are women) invariably take the money and do not show up. They are con (wo)men, not pro-dommes or prostitutes.

Disabled submissives appear to be robbed more often, which is just wrong.

Status: offline 		i think the issue is in numbers.  it's my belief that so many will come into this sort of things, look around at others and use them as an example or starting point for how things should be.  it's just as likely that they will see things like tributes, and think the idea sounds agreeable or fun, and even if they don't expect anything to work out say to themselves, 'why shouldn't i try it?".  think of all the things we submissives think "this is the way" because we see it, hell look at the assumption of dressing in leather and latex lol.

personally i like gift lists being available, and i don't mind the ones that normally require tributes, i'm just not a fan of materialism.
