Ok i know the mods are volounteers.. and kudos to them.. however a couple of things are happening and i can't seem to get someone to at least give me an explanation.

First my avatar disappeared... and when i asked in the test forum what was going on with the avatars.. my post got yanked for asking.


Is Mum the word? What's happening?

I cannot speak for the yanking of your thread. But I will tell you that many avatars will have to be removed because of some of the directives in USC ยง 2257. I have asked one of the moderators or administrators to make a more official statement about this soon. Thank you for your patience.

As Mod 7 explained,a full statement will be made soon regarding avatars.As mentioned on another thread,changes are occuring and we just ask that people bare with us and we are grateful to everyone being so patient.As for Your question Katy,the profile side is not moderated by the forum side,but is also subject to alteration,but things are happening there also.
This is just a big thank You to everyone who is sticking through this difficult period.

I think it is more a matter of erring on the side of caution. I know your avatar wasn't indecent, but given the current "climate", it might just be easier to not take the chance, don't you think?

Personally, I would rather see a forum with no avatars than lose the forum entirely.

Personally I would rather tell Bush and his goons to take the forum and shove it up where the sun don't shine if we have to give up our personal freedoms and bow to a morality that is being forced upon us by the religious right. But then that is just me. (Waits for that knock on the door)

WickedKev - I have no idea how they are measuring what is indecent. There are similar pics to mine on the message boards that have not (yet?) been removed. But you are fully clothed, whereas I am showing a (little) bit of skin. I think it's your pretty gray hair.....

Funny antidote in a paper toda, here an amateur play group were planning to put on the show 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' but the local government people here said they had to change the word dwarves to gnomes as small people might be offended. You gotta laugh haven't you........

What say we move the forum to Canada, where the goverment isn't run by a fanatically religious right. It's amazing to me just how far the Janet Jackson incident has pushed this "family moral values" momentum that seems to be sweeping across the States.

Funny.... you can buy a gun at Wal-Mart and shoot somebody with it, but they pull music CDs off the shelf if it has even a hint of sexual content in it.

I don't get it. The more i see things in life, the more agnostic i become.

In this instance, I tend to agree with you, but I'm sure the CM people just want to avoid any possible battles. It seems that the pics that are disappearing seem to be the ones that are personally owned as opposed to those available through the site. I haven't a clue what might have been indecent about yours...fully clothed, not a horrible looking freak of a guy....you're right, must have been the jacket.

I don't think it was so much flesh as face, Em. Your image is very clear. If I remember Katy's image, there was no face, so there may be an issue there, but I am really confused why Kevs disappeared, it was fantastic, and I coverted that coat...
