Okay, that just threw me, so I have to wonder if the same thing happens to other people. Do you read the name of a poster every time, or just glance at the avatar? I ask, because the very cool mark of one of our most proloific posters, just showed up on another thread, and it wasn't him. I finally looked closer after a second post from the newer arrival. It didn't even register that the ranking was wrong, just that it wasn't up to the usual standard. Not the first time I've been given pause either. Someone has picked up one I used to use, and I go 'huh?' every time I see it. Thoughts?

yea, wait, let me put this rib down... i was angelina for a minute, when i gave it up, i saw some other poster with the same pic that i gave up, and i (OOPS) got confused and thought it was myself LOL damn these ribs are good yum!

yeah, there are a few that give me pause when I glance at the avatar, read the post and go WTF?? until I actually LOOK at who the post is from....

Yeah someone had mine for awhile till they went with Rons and no matter how may times I came across it I always wondered I didn't type that and now I'm Going that doesn't sound like Ron. It gets odd. But the site won't let us up load our own avatar or use special Avatars that only one person can use at a time so I just learned to deal with it. Steel

Real_Trouble has the same avatar as you, STeel.. I've gotten to where when I see 'your' avatar, I double check the name..LOL

Yeah, I've thought about this from the other side of the coin. I read the forums for a while before I posted anything, and when I chose an avatar I tried not to take one that I had seen associated with a regular poster. I think... hope... I succeeded, but if I find that I'm wrong, I'll certainly change it. I figure someone who has a history with a certain avatar has more right to it than I do. I agree also that the limited choice of avatars is frustrating. I choose not to post a picture of Myself publicly (though I'm happy to show it to individuals upon request), so I can't use that, and none of the available ones in the system really suits Me very well. 'Twould be nice to have more of a choice, but until that happens I suppose I'll survive with what I have. [:)]

One of the files available down there is pretty deep, but there is a lot of thematic duplication. The various eyeballs are like a brand new mahjong tileset, sometimes.

~FR~ ~FR~ It's never a problem for me because I have the avatar's turned off so it's pics or nothing for me. I'll go out and read a profile if I think it will give me more insight to answer a question otherwise I just post to the question at hand regardless of the OP. Celeste

I see the avatar before the name usually, that does make it hard when another person uses the same avatar or worse..........when they change it dang it all!Take Greedy for example [:D] , she is a poster I always read because I like her words. But when she switched pics out it took me a week to realise I was skipping her posts because it wasn't Greedy in my brain.Sheesh. When I chose mine one of the reasons was because I hadn't seen anyone else use it, and cuz it looked like me before I gained 30lbs of fluffiness haha. I was tempted to change the pic after gaining the weight but figured I wouldn't be able to find my own posts. [8\|]I get a bit territorial over them too heh.
