One of my favorite beers, I can only buy seasonally.
My 82 year old Aunt, drinks 1 Sam Adams every night.
She is the one that turned me on to Sam Adams.
lol

[:D] I love Summer Ale, by Samuel Adams. [:D]
I make sure I have stashed away at least a case before the fall.
I can usually only buy it from late May until the end of August.
Is it out yet?????

It may not be the best beer in the world, but it is one of my favorites.
Which is what counts, for me.

I hesitate to call my beer preferences the best in the world because it's so subjective, but my favorites...

- Guinness.  Especially from the tap, it's like a beer milkshake.
- Samuel Adams
- Rolling Rock (it's like a dessert beer!)

And when I was living in the Sierra Nevada Foothills in California we had a brewery not far from us, the Jack Russell Brewery, and they had this raspberry stout that was fucking incredible.  I don't remember a beer of theirs that I didn't like.  Link: http://www.jackrussellbrewing.com/main.sc

Again when I drank I had been there.... Very Good Beer however more bitter than I ever wanted but good Brews. They did however brew a Root Beer Variation with Molases which was closer to a Saspirilla which was EXCELENT. I doubt the Beer guys will appreciate it but a good root beer is HARD TO MAKE I was Very Impressed by it.

The darker the better. Stouts and Extra Stouts are what I drink. Guiness, Shiner Bock Bohemian Black Lager, and such do it for me.

DomAviator -> RE: Best beer in the world? (5/7/2008 10:27:34 PM)

Oh, I know that, but the OP didn't catch the other thread. It was well-disguised. [8D]  What I wouldn't give for a big fat soft pretzel and some Süssersenf right now.

I have three bottles of Westvleteren in my fridge. As you might guess, I'm very fond of Belgian beer.

So what beers, styles, regions, do you rate?

  1. Young's Double Chocolate Stout
  2. Young's Oatmeal Stout
  3. Newcastle Brown Ale
  4. Guiness Extra Stout
  5. Fat Tire
  6. Sam Adams Boston Lager
For regular dining out, I'll often accept Shiner Bock, being an above average American brew, or if I'm in the mood for something sweeter I'll go with Killian's Irish Red.

There's also a microbrewery here in Houston that has a superb selection--if I want to enjoy quality beer, that's where I'm headed.

Budwieser, Miller Lite....[:'(]

Sadly, there is way too much bad beer in the world.  Proof positive that civilization has yet to perfect itself!

Holy Grail Ale, from Black Sheep Brewery.

Domin8tingUrDrmz -> RE: Best beer in the world? (5/8/2008 8:04:38 AM)

I'm not much of a beer drinker, I don't care for hoppy beers at all.  When I do drink beer, I enjoy malty beers.  The beers listed below I found to be quite exceptional.

SkullSplitter - Orkney Brewery

Buzzsaw Brown - Deschuttes Brewery

Winter Warmer - Harpoon

Raison d'Etre - Dogfish Head Brewery

Bullfrog Ale - Issaquah Brewhouse

Genau, Liebling. Pity so many will never get to enjoy that wonderful summer ritual of sitting on Kaufingerstraße or the Englischergarten with a nice cold Helles or Radler with a pair of Weißwurst, a big fat Brezel and a pot of sweet mustard watching the promenade of people. Or in a Biergarten doing the same thing with friends and Berliner Weiße.

CraZYWiLLiE -> RE: Best beer in the world? (5/9/2008 8:44:00 PM)

Becks.
