ORIGINAL: candystripper You know, i can pick out some posts here which recommend (or denounce) a movie or film, but i'd love to see a list. i've never even seen a regular X-rated movie, and am saving that experience to share with my One. However, i'd still enjoy seeing titles; and i can read anything. i was going to buy the "Beauty" series but not now; i have tried to read Ann Rice before and simply could not. It does not surprise me that the Beauty" books left some cold. In my day, we smuggled copies of "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou, because on page 272 (or so) a sex scene appears. Same for some of Ann Rand's books; we weighed through "The Fountainhead" for 2 pages of sex. Never had the patience to read Shakespeare but i am told he refers to "the beast with two backs" to describe sex. At 15, this would have been highly enlightening. "Lady Chatterly's Lover", by D.H. Lawrence, had no sex in it at all that i could see. Picked up some interesting ideas from "Valley of the Dolls" by Jacqueline Susann. LOL. candystripper i do hope that you got a bit more out of the books that you read other than the sex scenes. d.h. lawrence had much to share in his books, and while ayn rand is overly capitalistic, she did tell her ideas very thoroughly. shakespeare can be quite amusing as well as enlightening; perhaps you might give him another try.
