There have been many posts on here from new subs, especially those in sub frenzy... and it seems they are all willing to throw away not only their power, but their common sense, financial rights, sanity etc....

I'm a new sub. I've been in this lifestyle for less than two months. But, I come with intelligence, common sense, life experience (albeit vanilla) and a willingness to learn....

I've found a wonderful  Dom. He is kind, considerate, and he wants to teach me all he knows... and even better... he wants to learn new things with me....

We live in New Zealand.... the far reaches of nowhere.... maybe that's the secret ;-)

I kneel at his feet,.... I call him, Sir,... I do anything he asks of me.... but he earns that right... by trust and much more....

V

There seems to be two types of posters on Collar Me.... the completely frenzied idiots..... and those that have been around long enough to have some good advice and stories....  thank you to those I have gained insight and wisdom from... ;-)

Edited to ask a question... as I seem to be getting lots of views but no comments - lol.... What would those of you who are experienced in this lifestyle wish to convey to those of us newbies who have life wisdom and common sense already?.... i.e. something you only learned after a long time in the lifestyle maybe ;-)

Use the tools you already have, i.e., common sense, life experiences.

Have fun.

I'm a fairly new slave, but I have sense also. I knew my Daddy before I asked for consideration, I spent time with Him in RL and got to know His expectations and demands so I knew what I was getting into, and so on. I trust Him completely because He does everything in His power to earn that trust with honesty, respect and communication. No matter what you do, there will always be people who let the excitement go to their heads and lose their self control. Unfortunately, it happens.

(I know not an answer to your question, but I just wanted to let you know that not  ALL newbies are so rash. lol)

You'll find that you'll get lots of views and as a new member, possibly lots of cmail as well. Ignore what you will, block what you will  (block and delete are great tools and can be your best friends here) and answer whoever strikes your fancy. Right now, you're still showing up on the "New" list so give it time. Plus, as Dnomyar says, the great cleavage shot does draw attention. *grin*  A lot of equal opportunity cleavage admirers around here.

As for advice, I don't have any other than to say there is no one "TWUE WAY" around here. No, it's not a typo, it's something of an ongoing joke here.   I've been around the lifestyle for some years and am getting ready to move out to my Master in a few weeks.  What works for us might not work for you and vice versa. The forums are great for ideas but ultimately, your decisions are between you and your Sir.

Good luck and welcome to CM! Kiwiland is gorgeous, you got a beautiful country there! I went to school in Victoria myself.

What would i say to any n00b?

Take all the time you need, never let yourself be rushed or pressured into anything, and if you feel you are then have the good sense to speak up and have your concerns addressed.

If you still feel that things are going too fast for you, re-assess the relationship, being submissive does not mean you give up the right to feel anything other than respected, included and most of all, happy.

I for one would say careful how you speak, cause your words how I interpret them are insulting and rather vain.  And I know there are some that might not say anything here, but will think kneeling before a man in only 2 months is not wise, amoungst a few other thing.  There is something to be said about one humbling themselves.  In any event good wishes in your dynamic.

Welcome to our beautiful beach, come on in the water is fine. If you are not a good swimmer it would be best that you don't go out over your head lest you might get caught up in the undertow. Yes, our beach is beautiful, but like any other beautiful beach there are sharks and jellyfish in the water...use caution and stay aware of your surroundings. The rays of the sun are warm and inviting...but they can also burn you badly....use sunscreen. If you have any rashes, open sores or festering wounds it would be best to try to get them healed up before you come out to play because at worst, you will infect other people and at best the sun, sand and surf can irritate them badly. There are plenty of hot dog vendors on the boardwalk...you don't have to slap down all of your money to the first one you come to....take your time and choose the one that is selling what you are actually looking to buy. The drinks served here are strong and intoxicating....pace yourself and drink responsibly. Play safe and have fun.

At some point you might wish to add humility, empathy and understanding to that list :)

There are all types of reasons as to why you might see someone as a "frenzied idiot".  Perhaps they are brand new to the scene.  They could lack your years of life experience and perspective.  Did you, in your formative years, lead a life without foolish choices and actions?  Perhaps they are over excited... it is quite exhilarating to discover that you are not as freaky as you once thought, and there is a whole community of people out there you can connect with.  Perhaps they are just not as literate as you and I, or not able to put their thoughts into words very succinctly.

Perhaps, and as was the case when I made a post about experiencing "frenzy" a few months back, they are separated from their Owner and have very limited means to express the BDSM aspect of their relationship.  You have only been in your relationship for two months... can you say how you would feel/act if separated for months at a time, the longing and loss of a loving relationship amplified by the lack of BDSM interraction?

Absolutely nothing.  Every relationship is different.  And, what works for me and my Master probably wouldn't work in your relationship or anyone else's.

Life is for learning, and in my opinion, the best way to learn is by doing.  Enjoy learning together.

I think one of the best pieces of advice I could give is to chart your own course--a site like this is very good to read and talk about ideas concepts, practices, but at the end of the day it is what is negotiated, developed and adopted by the two of you that matters--no one can say you are right or wrong---there is no TRUE path, there are pitfalls, hiccups and duh moments--but one has those in life--so using your common sense, not trying to be something you aren't, communicating and having fun is what it is all about.
