Ok I know that after spanking type play everyone's flesh will tingle a bit

, but I'm not sure if what I am feeling is right, and I would value any advice.

I played a couple of days ago with someone I trust, and although I have played and experienced a number of implements over my 15 years in the scene, I have never really allowed any play on my back as on the few rare occasions anyone has tried it, I didn't feel that I liked it. However, the Dom I played with was very careful and I did enjoy it. He used a flogger, birch and single tail whip and I thoroughly enjoyed all of them.

However, now I keep getting a sensation across my shoulder blades and in the upper centre part of my back that feels like that area of my skin is resting on cut glass or knife blades. It's not there all the time, but is really noticable when I yawn & stretch or when I orgasm. The first time I felt it, I was quite frightened and it wasn't until later that I realised it could have been because of the play on my back which I had not done before.

I am very fair skinned, so although at the time of play there were no marks other than the usual expected pink markings, I do have a few tiny bruises but they are not the problem, it is the tingling or cutting sensation that I am feeling which has me rather worried.

I don't feel that the Dom has done anything wrong, and feel that it is more because my skin in that area was not used to that kind of play. Could it be damaged nerve endings? Am I right in thinking they are just a bit sore and will recover given time? Sitting here typing, it feels fine, the sensation is only there as I said, when I either stretch or orgasm.

Any ideas anyone?

Was the birch you speak of from actual tree switches? Fresh cut plants have tree sap! Potentially, pretty allergenic---you could have tiny cuts in the skin reacting to the gook! Have someone scrub your back with a neutral soap and see if it helps.

Thanks for your reply Lady Hibiscus. I know I am allergic to plant sap, but I think the birch he was using was more like pea sticks (tiny garden canes) bound together, rather than twigs cut from bushes.

I just don't understand why it feels like I am being poked with the tips of knife blades when I orgasm or stretch. I have spoken to him about it, and he says he doesn't think it is anything to do with it, Perhaps it's just that no one he's played with has experienced it before. Will get hubby to give me a good back wash later and see if that helps.

Sounds like you may have "irratated" some nerves to Me, in which case you should be fine in a day or 2. But if you're allergic to plant sap, that may be a bit more of a problem, but I'm not a dr. and I suggest if you're still having these sensations after a time then you should see one.

Don't be worried. What you have done is had a deal of impact play on an area of your body that isn't usually so challenged, and not only have you woken up and stressed the nerves in the area but also the tissues around them will have become swollen and inflamed enough to constrict them too.

All in all you have temporarily scared the crap out of your neural system, and like anything else it will take a while for the damage to recede and tissues react as normal.

When you have regular impact play on any area the tissues almost learn not to react so violently afterwards, to such an extent that there are some of us who take a damn good lashing without much more than a blush left to show for it!

Try some Arnica cream, it helps soothe and hasten recovery of impacted skin.

Many thanks for that pinkwind. I kind of had a feeling it was something like that, but just wanted to make sure that others had experienced the same and that it was nothing to worry about. I've never been flogged/birched or had a whip used on my back at all before (well, one or two strokes but said I didn't like it). Now I know I love it, but will need to build up gradually to get the nerve endings used to it.

One thing that i do find soothing straight after a good hearty flogging is to have peppermint oil gently rubbed across the area, it not only cools and takes the heat out of the burnished skin, but does help give a wonderful sheen that helps marks stand out for a while if you are intending to takes pics when sceneing.

Anyway, just glad to know there is another impact lover in the making!

sounds like nerve pain to me as well. I think that if you have someone use a cool cloth to lay on your back it may ease it some. It could also be muscle pain of some sort since it is hurting when stretching etc, try alternating ice and heat and see if it makes it feel any different. After a scene it is nice when the Dominant rubs the skin lightly with a kind of ointment (some like lotion) after the play. Some people think that it helps their skin from the events that have taken place, just remember not to rub lotion or ointment in if the skin is broken. This is just what I would do in your situation had it happened to me, others may have better advice, if the problem persists you should consider to seek medical treatment.
