electric play/stun guns - 5/8/2008 8:38:27 PM

I have a question regarding stun guns. I enjoyed it's pain and am considering buying one. However, certain saftey issues have my concern. I have been told that as long as you do not use it on the spinal or chest areas it is cool. Some only recomend below the waist.

What about  duration of shock, location, and voltage of unit?

Guess that is more than one ? Any info regarding this?

Violet Wands are safer they only put out static shocks (that dont effect the heart or do nurve damage) but can give a good jolt.

I have an 800,000 volt and use it now and then just for a sec or three.  Just enough to provide disorentation.  Normally I use it on the ass cheek.

You are getting advice that appears to be mixed up between stun guns and electrical play... Only below the waist is not a factor in stun guns, it is a good warning in hooking up electrodes across the body.

OK remember afew things though:

1. Stun guns are listed as "less lethal" they are not non lethal. (people have died directly as a result of their use)
2. They have actual training courses in the use of them as weapons might not be a bad idea to go to one. (If you have any sense you will)
3. Stun guns come in various voltages from about 40,000 volts to over 100,000 volts generally.
4. It's the amps that are more dangerous than the volts.
1mA  Tingling feeling
5mA  Pain
10mA  Female let go (can cause bladder loss of control)
15mA  Male let go      (can cause bladder loss of control)
20mA  Hazardous
50mA  Breathing interupted
75mA  Ventricular Fibrillation (Irregulair heartbeat)
100mA Dangerous to life
4A  The heart stops
5A  Death/skin burns

These numbers are calculated on dry skin, wet skin allows much more electricity to enter the body so the safety margin becomes less.

Clarification and correction of the above that occured to me after the edit function time had expired.

10mA female (can't let go response)
15mA male    (can't let go response)

When I mentioned training classes I ment like those offered by police groups, by competent weapons instructors.

This sounds like a really bad idea.  Sooner or later, someone is going to be seriously injured or killed.  Electricity is not a toy.

Too much voltage and amperage to use as a toy.

I have several friends who are police officers.  They posted the vids of themselves getting 'tased' from their training sessions.  They were each hit in the back for just a second.  It was not a pretty sight and the comments were pretty graphic.  It's not something I personally would want to do to anyone.

A commercially availible "Stun Gun" is not the best choice for the type of play you have in mind, it  having been designed to subdue the average berserk male. Even a regular healthy person taking a jolt can be dangerous, mutiple discharges in a short period have indeed proven fatal to some.

That said the concept of the "tingler" to highten awareness and make the recipient jump on cue is well understood, having been deployed in some American cinemas back in the fifties.. but that's another story

Devices from the flash units of old cameras can be quickly improvised and the output adjusted to suit individual needs. Electric shock pranks are a regular feature of many an electronics forum around the web and I would recomend "electrotech online. com" lots of helpful folk only to willing to help a novice... just be carefull how you word your end use and tou will be fine.

I'll let you know when I get back from Hardtied?

Seriously... I'm nervous as crap about all of those electric cattle prods and things. I'd rather someone just shock the crap out of me now, so I know what to expect!   o.o

Also looks like there is some mixup going on between a stun gun and a taser. A taser I would agree is totaly stupid to use as a bdsm toy, but a stun gun isnt that bad depending on what Kv you get. I know several people who use them for erotic play and have no problems.

A stun gun has two prongs on the front and when you flip the switch is goes buzz. A taser shoots out two projectiles with wires trailinig behind them. The projectiles puncture the skin. The basic way I rtemember the difrence is that if it DOES shoot then its NOT a gun.

i have been playing with electric play for quite a while. Most devices like tasers are made for incapacitating a person. Which means , well simply put shocking the hell out of the nervous system.

there is one or 2 bondage sites that sell prods that could be safe, but one must remember where the contact is made. keeping the contact below the waist is one of the safer ways. tens units on the genitals and or anal can give pelnty of "rise" or even put one on their knees. A copper cb cage i made does it nicely with an erostek 302 on 50%.

the violet want as mentioned above is also a nice.

But using real cattle prods and tasers that were made for police action, i would recommend against.

Yes, i think there might be some confusion between stun guns and tazers. i was refering to stun guns. my original question dealt with duration of shock and location. Saftey issues were related to deaths in police use as of late. Which, are non related to bdsm play. If one were actually wanting to subdue a person, i would recomend using the stun gun for as long as it took.(and good luck)  i do not believe they are a good self defense weapon!
The fact they are not, leads to improper use. Plus, drugs and other factors have contributed to the publicized deaths.

Love violet wands. They feel nice and tingly.
