Status: offline 		I have no idea where to put this since I am asking the question to both Doms and subs.

If/when you play in public, if you were going to do some puppy play, what activities would you do.

My owner and i do puppy play at home, and it consists of eating from a dog bowl, being fed treats, doing tricks, sleeping on a dog bed or in a cage, walking on a leash, laying at his feet, getting bathed/brushed, obedience training, and just playing in general.

I was wonderinghow many others do this type of play and if you are in a club what do you do to convince people you are indeed a puppy. what kind of activities do you and your owner do as far as puppy play goes?

Status: offline 		I would have thought the lead would be a good give away. Why do you feel the need to convince people that you are a puppy, anyway? Just go out and enjoy yourself

Status: offline 		I do not feel the need to convince people, it is just that I have fun playing with people I do not know, and they don't always pick up on the fac tthat I am a puppy. Just last night I played with someone actually. I brought my chew toy to him and he played tug of war with me. It was a ton of fun, he really knew how to play with a puppy girl and treat me just like a puppy despite the fact that I am indeed a human. It was great, most people however get hung up on the fact that I am human and can't seem to figure out that I want to play as a puppy, so I was just asking others what they thought, apparently however no one seems to want to anser this one. prolly casue there is no gossip factor or flame. whatever I will come back when I have another question and see what happens. thanks anyways

Status: offline 		Well, try running around with the chew toy in your mouth. Go up to people and look at them expectantly. Then make sad eyes if they don't play   That said, people might be wary of just coming up and playing with you out of respect.

Status: offline 		If you are going with someone have them show you off like at a dog show, walk you around, make you fetch toys, bring your dish and put the nights drinks in it. Just do whatever is fun for you.

But seriously, you can't mean literally convince people that you are a puppy. Still I don't know what you are trying to ask  How to portray your puppyishness to onlookers? Something else?

How about a prohibition on closing your mouth or retracting your tongue?

The silent, quizzical head tilt?

Rhythmic jerking of your leg when someone scratches you right there?

Going on the papers?

Status: offline 		How far you want to go, being a puppy in public, is something you should negotiate. I was at a meeting/play party at a place called the Denver Harbor about two years ago, and met a young latdy with her female cocker spaniel. (She even had a reference photo on her of the breed her pet was supposed to be!) Anyway, her pup was expected to simply act like a well behaved dog: she heeled, she sat next to her owner's chair, pressed her head against her leg for attention, was wary of strangers until she had a chance to sniff the back of their hands, enjoyed scratches on the back of her head... did tricks, like sit up and balance a "treat" on her nose until told she could eat it, "shook hands" and so forth... in general, just was being a great dog!

Sit.
Stay.
Roll over.
Play dead.
heel.
speak.
No bark!
Good Dog.
Bad dog.

I think that doing the front "legs" extended, butt slightly raised and wiggling, panting/yipping posture that biological canines do when they want to play is a big hint. Of course, I used to work with dogs in a kennel/vet/grooming situation, so I'm pretty in tune with canine behaviour. But I don't think most people will misinterpret that if you have a squeaky or tug toy with you!

Status: offline 		None of that is unacceptable behavior at most events. Just be aware of the floor...bar floors aren't the best places for your puppy to be on, for example. Rule of thumb: if it's sticky or you can't SEE the floor, it might not be a good idea. LOL
