i can't watch anything on youtube today...i get the message that says that sunjava is turned off or i have an old version of it. i just downloaded the latest flash player and i'm still getting the message. any ideas?

Go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall Java, then go and reinstall in from th site do this for every type of java you have (should be 2)

well i might as well be looking at a martian sitting on my desk, this stuff confuses the shit out of me. i've got 4 java things installed, not 2.

yes, it will clearly say Java, you probably have one that will just say java, and one that will say Sun Java try viewing something again, if it doesnt let you, follow the above instructions, if it lets you, no worries :)

And if you haven't shut down and then powered up again (not just "restart", but "shutdown", then turn it back on again), do that also. When I have a sudden java problem and I haven't changed anything (although you said you did load something newer), that always clears my java issues. Cali

yes i need a sledgehammer, but i don't know if i need it for my head or the computer lol. this type of thing frustrates the hell out of me. cali i just updated it and i downloaded yahoo this morning, anybody think that might have something to do with it? thanks all for the suggestions. going to try shutting down first.

Hi! I'm fairly new here but computers is what I do for a living - Tech Support. I don't know which Browser you are using for the internet, but you do have to make sure that you've downloaded the appropriate Java program for your browser. If it were me, this is what I'd do: 1. Uninstall all Java programs on your computer 2. reboot 3. download appropriate Java for your browser 4. install the download 5 reboot If you are still having problems at this point it may be something like anti-virus software blocking the program, or if you're using an accelerator for your download (common with dial-up connections) your file may be broken. Hope this helps!

asher i've got aol and yahoo now....i don't like them either, had yahoo for a while but never could get it to work very well and i'm remembering now why i uninstalled it the last time. if the reboot didnt' work, how do i know which java to install? remember you're talking to me and i don't know anything about this stuff. type slowly and use small words lol.

I think every woman should have a sledgehammer. You never know what beastie will raise its ugly head, and it's a great tool fer spiders. thornhappy (who doesn't have a sledgehammer, but has a big rubber mallet. donations are welcome.)

Hey, all you AOL and Yahoo haters. I hate them too. Before QCS got sold and the engineering group got outsourced I was a systems designer. Try "Instan-T" it's a free chat client that does AOL, Yahoo, IRC, Micro$haft and webcam for the exhibitionist in all of us. Great app written the old fashioned way it's efficient. Installed it's under 8Megs. Google it to find a their web site. Better yet format, fdisk, and install Linux :) Sam
