kittty, if you don't want to be a lawyer and the college has other things you are interested in...apply for the ones you are interested in and go to your Master and say... "hey, i tried this but it's not my thing but here are some other programs that will help me with a successful career". At least you'll still be in college and doing something you are interested it and he can't fault you for not being happy but you're still obeying him by bettering yourself.

i'm glad it amuzes him....Perhaps he'll be able to use that to comfort himself after your death (from not being directly told to eat, drink, and breath) or when you leave him and he realizes how he was played all along....

kitttty... i have a friend. lawyer. top 10% of her class, yale. she and her husband (and their two kids, both born while she was working her way through college then law school) are making it because he has a job at mcdonalds. "a good school" is NO guarantee that you can get a good job afterwards. she passed the bar on her first try, with excellent marks. she makes maybe 50k a year. MAYBE. they dont have debt, she went without food, without sleep, without the man and the first child her first two years at law school because they couldnt afford to live on their own. she has and continues to have that fire in the belly that will make a name for herself as a lawyer. with the way you have spoken on this site (and i do remember the last thread you started about your grades)...i can tell you that you wouldnt survive the interview to be a floor assistant at the office supply store my soon-to-be-ex manages. you may be able to grasp the abstract, but if you cant grasp the practical, you're gonna end up with a whole lotta nothing. kitten
