I looked again at the responses and didn't note any sarcasm. I know my response was sincere.

Bob, I'm with ya too, on this. I think it's another case of an OP asking for responses, and then not particularly caring for the answers. That does seem to happen frequently, but is understandable too, in some cases.

I was sincere in my response as well, and noted how I handle it myself. A "grin" included was to show there's a lighter side to seeing things too.

Life's too serious to get upset on a message board. Oops...is that too sarcastic. <note the face...denotes "kidding"

I'm so sorry you are offended, but have you really thought about your question? You give little detail other than she fell asleep during the conversation leaving us to guess what time it was, how long you had been on the phone, what you were talking about (beyond setting up a meeting).

Or is it that you are just offended that some people actually had the audacity to suggest you question if YOU had done something to put her to sleep?

Life happens, and like it or not, sometimes it is just going to interfere with any D/s activity. You can accept that and move on or stick to fantasy play where reality is never a factor.

That would be horrible to have a narcoleptic sub/slave. I can just imagine:
You're dishing out the beating of your life. You're riding that high like a first time coke fiend. Sweat glistens your body, you're a GOD!! You decide to change instruments and check on her while you do. You lightly rub the area you just worked on and she stirs slightly. The pain must be so much she's at a loss for words!! This is the best you've EVER done!! You come around her to get a visual of her face..............
And she's asleep like you didn't even exist. She's slightly snoring and a small pool of drool dribbles down her chin. LOL!!!

BAHahahahaha!
Thanks for the laugh!

John, that is funny. I once safeworded during a shoulder massage. He was standing behind my chair absently rubbing my neck/shoulders, talking to somone else, and prgressively causing more and more pain. I tried patting his hand and giving an ease up look, followed by an "ouch, ouch" and an attempted pull away, but he was too distracted with the outside conversation. As a joke, I said our safe word. Amazingly, he "heard" that immediately.

Oops, I am off topic.

Might be off topic but it's a good point. The whole idea of a safeword is that it is an unambiguous signal. It can be stop or no, but its whole point is that when it's said it gets immediate attention.

I'd wonder if she was getting enough sleep, if I were calling too late, or if maybe I was boring as crap.

But that's just me.

No, it was no one's fault other than my work time table and looking after my toddler son when she was at work during the day.. My sleep schedule was 2 hours sleep in every 24 6 days a week and about 6 hours on Sunday unless I was fighting in a Medieval Tournament or at the weapons range (every secong weekend). I guess you could call it sleep deprevation.. She is my ex because she couldn't handle an increased work load I had and regular overseas trips for uindefinate perriods and never knowing on a daily basis if I was going to come home with knife or bullet holes in me or wind up in either the Hospital or Morgue... Life is a lot easier and much less dangerous now, but I still get little restfull sleep.

But in itself would it not qualify as a mindfuck? Falling asleep one would wonder why, what they did or didn't do to hold the tops's attention?

Drugs are a no go by choice, because the most effective either leave me in a semi drugged state for a couple of days or psychotic just as anti stress medication does.. and whilst there are excelent herbal treatments it only allows sleep when the body is ready for it.. In my case lack of sleep is the result of extreme pain especially on colder nights etc. I just learn to deal with it and cat nap when I can. I'd rather die tomorrow from sleep deprivation but alert than live the next few years in a drugged state.

When I met my man online we used to chat a lot and he would suddenly stop all communication and afterwards tell me he fell asleep. I thought he was pulling my leg or playing games until I actually came to live with him. Then I saw with my own eyes - he could fall asleep in a minute directly on a keyboard.
Sometimes we talk in bed and he falls alseep in the middle of a sentence.
He works very hard and doesnt sleep till he is completely exhausted, but I still think its amazing when you talk to someone and the next thing you hear is snoring.

There are people like that. It doesnt have to mean anything.

This would depend on if the pontential candidate was paying for the phone call and it was long distance then probably just leave the phone off the hook and go off doing something intresting for a few hours with some one awake( so crule )
Honestly we would have to consider some things deeply includeing was it us who caused it by being to soothing so need to fix that so never again with anyone or just to bloody boreing so a change of pace needed there.
Is the person going to drop into a deep slumber at any other time just because of how they are so best not to accept them incase it happens and causes trouble out side of the relationship.

Seriously, it isn't always about you. Could have been she worked an 80 hour week. Could have been she was unable to sleep the night before. Could be she suffers from exhaustion. Could be she's been sick. Could be your conversation wasn't thrilling and she was tired.

So, you have two choices you can think it's about you and be offended or you can be concerned that she was so tired that she fell asleep in the middle of a conversation.

There was a time i was speaking to a Man who lived in California...and He wanted to use His free cell minutes to call me. Only trouble was, by the time it was 9pm in California it was midnight here; i fought hard to stay awake but it just didn't work some nights. He'd get annoyed i fell asleep -- evidentially i have a lil snore, very cute -- but really; i think He should have spent some $$ and called me at a decent hour.
