This is somewhat premature, since the rig hasn't been tested yet, but I'm so hopeful that I just have to yap about it a bit. My woodshop is in the garage, which is detached and unheated. And I'm in Chicago. So no building any fun toys until recently. [:(] I only set it up last fall when I got babe and decided I could make some equipment for myself. Sure, it's rough around the edges and not terribly pretty, but I'm just learning, so I can live with it. Anyway, the weather's nice so I've built myself something new. A shower stall! Construction was simple. It's just a couple of 2x4 studs about 8 feet high, with a cross beam at the top for suspension (probably on tiptoes, though it can support full body weight easily). Along the studs on the inside run PVC pipe. One pipe down each corner, and each pipe has multiple holes drilled into it facing inside the stall. Hooks up to the hose on the bottom. So once it's connected, water snakes through the pipe and jets out through the holes to the poor girl suspended in the middle. She has all sorts of fantasies about being cleaned up - bathed, have the hose turned on her, tossed in a pool, etc all while being told that she's such a filthy filthy girl, so this rig should be just about perfect for her. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to test it before I cemented the PVC pipe together. We have pretty good water pressure (I think the outside hose was measured at 80psi), and it just blew the whole thing apart when I tried it with just the pipes pieced together. So now I need to wait for the pipes to dry, then I can re-test. Best case scenario is that it all works perfectly and then I just need attach the pipe to the frame and tack on the shower curtains around the frame and I'm done. Worst case scenario is that the water pressure isn't sufficient to shoot out of the holes well enough and it comes out at a useless trickle and is no fun. But even in that case, I've still got a nice new suspension frame that I've built myself for the garage. Besides, I can pull out the PVC and try using a smaller size pipe or fewer holes (it's 3/4" pipe) if I need to. Win-win. I'll post a picture a little later. Total cost of this little project? Maybe $60. $20 for lumber, $15 for PVC pipe, $8 for wood screws, $15 for two shower curtains. So, again, even if the whole thing amounts to nothing and I dismantled it and throw it away, I'm only out $60. Plus, regardless of anything, I have more experience for the next rig I want to assemble. This home built bondage stuff is the way to go.

Very interesting idea. Thanks for sharing. Just in case the water pressure is not enough, maybe a small pool or similar pump could help push up the PSI's if needed?

Cool project! Hurray for women with fetishes [:)] If you don't have quite the power you thought, you can always re-do just the PVC section. If you had enough power to blow the fittings apart, you should have plenty to give her a good dousing. You didn't mention how many holes you drilled, or more importantly, what diameter they are. If the results aren't satisfactory, re-build the thing with only a half-dozen 1/16" holes. See how that works. Then drill a few more holes, and test again. You may also want to consider how you plumb it- i would bring the water line in at the top-center with a T fitting. That way, the highest induced pressure is at the top, with gravity helping the pressure at the bottom, and both sides will be even. Have fun!

The size of and number of holes you drilled into the pipes will help determine how much of a shower effect you get. The flow rate of your house plumbing will also factor in (I've got an older house with 1/2" galvanized pipe - my water pressure is about 85 PSI, but my water flow sucks because the pipes have so much junk in them.) Check the PSI while you've got a faucet or two open - if you still have good pressure, then flow won't be a problem.

Well, it's a good thing I like to tinker about... First test yesterday was a dismal failure. I was originally going to bring in the water on the top but couldn't find the fittings I wanted, so I came up with my idea of putting it in on the bottom. Big mistake. Nowhere near enough pressure, and it basically just dribbled out of the first pipe a little and never reached any of the other ones. So I re-piped it today to bring in the water from the top. Fortunately, I was able to salvage almost all of the PVC pipe, so I wasn't even wasting much. I needed a total of like $15 in more parts. So I'm still sitting at less than $100. Here's a picture: http://tinyurl.com/66nbj7. Note that I took it yesterday before I repiped the water distribution so you can see that it still comes in from down below. How well does it work, you ask? Very well...for the bottom half. You can see in the photo that there's a cross brace about halfway up the thing. Below that, it works fine. Water pours out and would saturate her thoroughly. Above that, however, there's nothing. Not even a trickle. So clearly I don't have enough pressure for the number of holes that I drilled. Incidentally, the pipes in the house are all brand new copper that go straight to the hose, which then hooks up to the rig, so I know the lines are clear. Next step is to go back and patch up a bunch of the holes and see if I can get water coming out towards the top as well. Then I'm going to end up with some crappy looking pipe that's covered with patches, but I'm not going to worry about it. Realistically, only one other person is going to be seeing this rig (and she'll be blindfolded when she's in it, more often than not), and I can always go back and buy new pipes to install once I have the holes worked out better. 4 more lengths of PVC pipe are gonna cost me another $9, so I'm just not concerned. I will say again that if anybody is interested in building their own equipment at home, it's lots of fun. Even if you completely screw it up and have to rebuild a few times, it's still going to be substantially cheaper than something you buy. Sure, it won't be of the same quality until you've built a lot of stuff and gotten good at it, but it's a worthy cause and I'm looking forward to improving. You just have to be willing to tinker around and screw up a lot or it'll drive you nuts. I'll post another update a little later after I've tried patching a bunch of the spray holes.

Jackpot! I originally way overdrilled. I put about 8 holes on each pipe. Judging by how it performed initially, I patched down to having just 3 holes on each pipe. That performed just about perfectly. The holes towards the top (the ones that would hit her face) are not quite as high pressure as I'd like, but they're at the top, so that's to be expected. I patched the holes in an uneven pattern, so there should be a fair bit of water distributed across her body at all angles. It really shoots out of the thing now. So I attached up the shower curtains so as to not completely soak the garage, and I'm just about set. Last things I need to do: 1) Get another shower curtain to enclose the door. But I'll see how it works when she's in there first. Clearly, I'd rather have the show. 2) Carve out a better drainage hole in the base of the frame. Didn't even think about that. 3) Possibly plunk the whole thing down into a kiddy pool and not rely on the garage drain at all. From there, it's just what I want to enhance. I may fiddle around with which holes are plugged up and see what the results are like. I may saw off some of the pipes and cap them off so they're shorter. No need to run a closed pipe all the way down to the floor, after all. I may just re-do the whole piping system now that I've done it once and see if I can come up with a better system right off the bat next time, so I don't have all my pipes plugged up afterwards. But all in all, I consider this project a massive success.

If you want to Increase Pressure Try to Step down the size of the PVC. Go from Standard to 1/2 PVC and Try to use pressureized Screwin fittings for the Drill holes this way you can increase pressure The Step down will double the pressure and the screw in fittings should make them BLAST. Steel

Why not trying to hook up a pressure washer. A light wieght one with 900 psi should provide enough pressure through dozens of holes. Andrea

To me, that's the best part... One other thought if you end up re-plumbing it. While you're in the plumbing section, you'll see that there are straight unions to attach two pipes of equal diameter. They're sized to fit over the pipe, with a ridge in the middle to keep either pipe from sliding all the way through. If you cut one in half with a hacksaw, you'll have a sleeve that fits snugly over the pipe, that can be slid anywhere you want. You can use this to close off holes as needed- it will dribble some, but most of the pressure will be directed to the open holes. Just something to play with.
