I was wondering how many people have recieved a mark of some sort at the hand of their Dominant? My Dominant and I were talking about having a tattoo done for myself to represent Him. ( we Have talked about it for the last year and a half in more detail. and recently I was pierced for him. My second piercing.. and I am very pleased with the piercing. ) Just so you guys know I am not one who runs out at the first chance to get tattoed. This October marks 4 years that I have been collared to Him. I have given much consideration to agree to having a tattoo of his choice.
I was wondering How did those that have tattoos come about them? How did you come up with the design? Are you happy with the tattoo? Would you have changed anything if you could have done it over from scratch? Does the Dominant also have a tattoo to represent his submissive on himself? I have heard of it being done both ways. Any suggestions?

I design tattoos. So do most artists in a reputable tattoo parlour. Ask where he wants to have your tatt done.

More then likely we will go back to the shop where I had the piercing done. Many of my vanilla friends have had work there and they really enjoyed the whole experience. I will admit they were very down to earth , friendly, and clean. Of course the whole artwork part of it is something that we haven't decided on. He has thrown the idea around of a tiger, but I don't know. A tattoo is something that is with a person forever and I want it to be very special. I am not sure if just any tiger would work. I also can't have anything really big ((it has to be on my back/ shoulders/ or lower back- somewhere inconspicous)) because of work.

Last fall I marked my slave with a tattoo. She was inked on her left thigh (borrowing from the Gorean style); the tat was the hanzi characters that marked her specifically as my slave (did a bit of research on Chinese to get it approximately right).

There are innumerable tattoo designs available on the Internet--enough for you and your Master to adapt and borrow liberally to come up with a design that suits you both and makes the statement you wish made. Any reputable artist can help finalize the design (always get a good artist's input, because designs that look great on paper might not turn out so well on flesh).

What matters most is the design should resonate with both of you--have meaning for both of you So long as that bar is met, the design willl be awesome.

Hmm... I'm not sure if I could get a tat for a Master. I already have some and no I am not one who jumps at the thought of running and getting another tat done. They are special to me. It took me about 5 years to finally get the ones that I have now. I guess if I had an owner who supported me in getting something that I had already planned... if He/She designed it would be one thing... But no, I don't think I could go out and get a tat just cuz He/She wanted me to. That would be discussed before being collared. A piercing is a whole different ballgame... They are not permanent and if the relationship ends I would simply take it out.

I suggest Henna at first to see how much the two of you really like the design. You have plenty of time to make it permenant.

I think it's great that you've been together for over four years now. However, let's take a lesson from Tom Arnold.

Anyways, I hope you find what makes you and yours happy as you continue to grow in your relationship.

My slave was marked after I read the Kushiel books by Jacqueline Karry as she fits the description and mindset (even down to the very hard to mark her for more then a day) It was her first and took about 10 hrs to complete and fils her entire back.

Fox will be getting a tattoo when we get married, the Japanese kanji of his name from me, Fox. He has the choice to add artwork if he would like, as log as he runs it past me. Th important part fo me is tha he has the name tattood on him, since that is what most symbolizes my ownership of him. He was named shortly after I decided I wanted him.

:) yes the reason for the tattoo is pretty much the same for us DV, we plan on getting married and it would mean so much more then just a ring. I never would have gotten a tattoo for anyone else before (and like I said it is a mutual decision that we have talked about for awhile).. * although I almost got one when I was in the military as a gift to myself for my acheievment of something I felt was important* I just knew I was not ready to get a tattoo at that time. For me this one is important, it would signify my commitment to Him for life. *which is the same as the marriage ceremony would be for us* The only reason we have not gotten married so far is the desire for both of us to wait until I graduate college. Most people who know us just assume he is my husband without knowing that we don't have the paper to make it official yet. On a different note, even if the reltionship was to end we have a daughter together and I would still want the tattoo to represent Him as a part of being in my life. Piercings can come out, but I did not take that lightly either.

I think the idea is very beautiful. Sadly, i have nothing meaningful to offer, I just don't happen to like tattoos, its a quirk of mine. However, given that you both seem to like them, I think the sentiment is actually very moving. Good luck to you both and congratulations on a wonderful marriage.

We played around with markers and henna for about a year and have an appt set up to have a tattoo. I never would of gone for carrying someone's mark due to break up and death but it is actually something that won't be seen and though very kinky, I can live with it.

I am happy about it. I do not look foward to the healing time..as it is in a sensitive spot and I will have to be careful for a few days. heh

He marked me with a tattoo almost three years ago. He created an insignia that symbolized him, me, and our M/s relationship, incorporating his initials. It's not too big, and on my right flank. He drew a rough sketch of it, scanned it and emailed it to me, and I took it to a few tattoo artists until one perfected it into something he really liked. He had me draw it on myself for about a week or so with a Sharpie so I could get used to the idea and what it would look like on myself, and then I went and had it inked on me, in red and black.

He said that would probably be my only mark, as he isn't a huge fan of tattoos, but he has since considered a second one, or even an actual brand. Time will tell.
