What are you most interested in reading about first or the most on a profile.
  • Wicked straight to point kinky stuff like;
    "I'm mean wicked Daddy that wants to press his lips to yours, slowly bit down on your lip, pull your panties tight up between the cheeks of your ass, until you are standing on the tips of your toes.
  • Personal Stuff like;
    "I'm a X year old male dom that enjoys the outdoors, a day at the beach. I'm drug and drama free and have a lot to offer somebody.
  • What they are looking for;
    "Seeking a female submissive, prefer bi-sexual, who enjoys the meaning of life and who knows to have a good time."

Basically, are you wanting to read more about vanilla things or right to the point BDSM stuff?

IF I was a slave, I'd say personal stuff. I LOATH those profiles and messages that are written like a really bad porn movie script. I mean who really cares if anyone enjoys sticking a bunch of celery up their bottom, whilst singing Ave Maria and knitting a tea cosy?

I like it all combined.  Sometimes I encounter a profile that almost presents a story and gets right to the point and I can almost imagine it. Those rock when they are done well.  I also like knowing what they are looking for right up front.  I like profiles that also include personal information. That becomes essentially important depending on the type of relationship. I also look very carefully at what is presented in the loves/likes/hates and experience categories and whether or not they are even listed.

meant to write that i promise not to email you first...so don't need to write that...part of the beauty of kneeling is being selected rather than selecting...what ever happened to the hunt?...and training the sub to be what you want rather than finding the person that matches perfectly in profileland...

I want to know some about kink preferences. I'm more interested in personal stuff, and how well the profile is written.  Frankly, if every other word is spelled badly (typos ok, bad spelling NOT), if the grammar isn't too butchered, and if it's not put together coherently, I skip it.  I'm intelligent.  Riff is intelligent. We want our third to be intelligent as well. 
I couldn't be with someone whose response to "so what do you think about the war in Iraq" is along the lines of "doncha love this nailpolish color? Oh my god, you should see the shoes I just got!"

(sorry if that didn't make sense.. I'm ungodly tired....)

My preference is something that shows that my mind will be affected.  Someone who will take me away from the mundane, who doesn't think I am less of a person because I am a sub (I am actually an active switch) but who will glory in what I can do to please them.

Some profiles get half read before moving on usually do to them sounding like Fantacy Island or plain bad writting. 
The best profile I've ever read remains Ron's, it's funny, it's real, it's Nilla and leading...  and at least in my opinion well written.

I prefer to read something that is realistic enough to sound like a real person, who happens to be kinky. I dont care much for the over the top porn movie fantasy profiles, becasue beyond the one scene whenere they are acted out the person is completely without depth. I dont want to know everything there is to know about someone i their profle, thats what conersations are for, but at least give me enough to have a real beneficial conversation and not just a collection of things you want to do to someone or have done to you.
I can skip the part about what are you looking for, since if you are coing up on my search you are looking for a Dominant Woman. Anyting else I will learn in conversation as well. But the realistic part with a hint at the kink is my prefernece.

To answer the OP

The profiles that paint a senario as to what the "Dominant is going to do and how the sub is going to react. SUPER YAWN. I by pass those really fast. I don';t really care what lil fantasy they think is going to happen. I've learned time and time again, if you have something etched into your head that you have over planned and over thought, you are going to be sooo totally dissapointed.

I prefer profiles that tell things about themselves. Both kinky and vanilla. The ones that flow kind of like a conversation would. IT doesn't seem forced., It doesn't feel like the poster is trying to prove something or show how super domly or super subby they are, just shows that they are a person first and their orientation happens to be "a" and what they really want with in a relationship is "b"

Your first option was a total turn-off for me and I probably wouldn't have even made it to the end of the sentence before I snorted and moved on to the next profile.  To me, it says the writer lives in fantasy world and there's a good chance that he thrives in online fantasy way better than he does in real life.  And that he probably doesn't have much else going for him.

The second was much more to what attracts me.  Realism, down-to-earthedness, having a life. The third is okay, I'm sort of neutral there.  I will say that I'd rather read it later in the profile, not as the opening sentence.

One of the reasons I had trepidation about the lifestyle was that I was afraid everyone was "fake".  I know, we all hate that word, but I was a newb.  When I stumbled across Daddy's profile there wasn't a drop of kink in it, other than the lists along the side.  He had basically taken his match profile and pasted it over.  It's been over a year now and we've talked about his profile quite a bit.  He figured that it's a kinky site, right?  Everyone should know why they're here.  Then again this all depends on what kind of relationship one seeks.  If you're looking for quickies, then state your kink and move on.  If you want a long term love hopefully you want to connect on more than just how you like your bondage.

There are many, many good dominant profiles. And others are pity-inducing.

I would like to read mostly vanilla information, well thought out, well written. The only BDSM discussion I like to read about is his philosophy or how it manifests (but not graphically) in his life. Showing intelligence and humor is great. Some specifics like taste in music or books offer something to comment on. I have "what I like" and "what I hate" on my profile; a lot of the messages I get reference some commonality with something from one of those lists. I don't really read the pre-packaged list of lives for/loves/likes, etc. unless and until we've made a connection. When I'm having a perv session I read the author's words and look at pics.

subtee what time is the session again. A good profile is probably the hardest thing to write for a modest(me) person. As you know from reading the forums words will be taken differently by most people. How do you write a profile that won't be flamed. Men are held to a higher standard on their profile than women.
