When I realised my favourite boys were the ones one pulled my hair *and* threw bugs at me

and when I first realised the evil power of a submissive female ... when I noticed that doing the boys homework and reminding them they had tests would mean I was their "best girl" and the pretty princess cheerleader bitch got dumped for not "putting out" ... mwah mwah mwha mhwa

I'm a submissive .. that doesn't mean I am a nice person

I'm like softness.   The boys would pull my hair when I was young or be a little rough playing and I liked it and went back for more.  Of course at the time, I didn't know what that meant.  Always thinking I was born in the wrong lifetime.   (I always loved reading about subs and wishing I was them).  As I grew up, I was always the girl the boys came to for help, assistance, or to make them feel good.

I've always done everything for everyone (especially men) and enjoyed it.  As I got older, it was easier to decipher what I was and what I wanted.   The first time I was spanked, I thought there was nothing any better ... then I discovered there was much, much more.

So I guess to answer the OP's question, I've always been a sub ... for as long I can remember, just didn't know all the ins and outs until I begain growing up.

I was the only girl who liked playing the "kidnap" games.

I found out about 2 months ago that I was submissive. Despite BDSM fantasies for over 20 years, it never occurred to me I was anything other than vanilla. And in the playground at school, I sat on boys and kissed them until they cried.... Go figure ;-)

Girls used to sit on me at school and kiss me till I cried, but I liked it too much so didn't cry  no I'm kidding.

I don't know what did it for me.  I'm the type of guy who never wins awards and shit, I just wanna be useful to someones genitals

I just thought I was very disturbed until in college my buddy's & me walked into an adult bookstore. I saw all the D/s stuff & said to myself , "I may be very disturbed but I am not alone!".

(My first ever post. Hope I don't screw this up.) As far back as I can remember. It took a long time to process, though, and even longer to realize I wasn't the only one. I always wanted to be the one who was captured and tied up, and I had no real interest in getting away. Never any real interest in reversing the roles. Always wanted (and still do) to be the male version of a damsel in distress. Daphne from Scooby-Doo may have been the first. No doubt it has always been part of the hard wiring.

I was two or three years old when Julie Newmar (Catwoman) turned up on our TV screen.  I didn't know what it was called then, but I knew what I was.

this has probably been asked many times here ... i am just starting to explore my sub side but have always felt that i was a sub (i think that in not recognising it, i was making myself unhappy) ...so, my question is:  are we born sub or is being a sub somehting that evolves and develops as we grow?

Yup, get's asked all the time.

I could answer your question, write a lengthy post explaining and supporting my answer.  I might write so eloquently, with such irrefutable logic that you could find no possible argument to what I said, leaving you no choice but to accept my every word as unquestionable truth... but, and this is an important question... what would that actually accomplish?

Ask yourself this, does it really matter how you became who you are as much as it matters what you do now that you are here?

Let me put it another way... suppose you were born this way... does that change anything?

Suppose you weren't born this way, it was something you learned, something society and a hundred other influences on you gradually instilled into your character and nature beginning at a very young age until... years later, it produced you as you are now... does that change anything?

Do you see my point... either way you are who you are.  How you got that way matters far less than how you choose to deal with who you are and what you choose to do next.

Food for thought.

....after my first high school dance when i returned home to fantasies of being strung up in front of all the pretty girls there- bound and helpless as their slave.

.....even earlier around 1st grade when i was always in my dreams being tied up and dominated by the smart girls in class..

and so it goes....

for me i have always felt submissive but never really wanted to show it. I have met the most wonderful master and all i want to do is learn how to be submissive to him and be all he wants.

Padraig I am of a whole nother mind set on whether it matters or not.Having suffered early abuse I have expended alot of brain matter questioning if my submissiveness is just one more consequence of a predator's whims...and this at times colors completely how I feel about myself and what it is we do.
Not sure if I will ever get a satisfactory answer to my own personal question, but I do believe when I got brave enough to address it honestly and work at figuring it out...I became more comfortable with myself....guess what I'm saying is we might not ever answer the question, but for some its important to explore the subject,if it helps make me more comfortable with who I am great,if it changes who I am I will deal with that

If I wasn't born with it, it was something that happened in my life before I was 10 years old that made me crave it.  I know that much.

I also know some people are just kinkyyy!!  Some people can't live without it.  Everyone is different!!

For me, I've had submissive tendencies pretty much as far back as I can remember, but it was in one of the old MSN chat rooms that I found there was actually a name for it.  I'm one of these people that does things for others a lot, but not so much for myself.

I had fantasies about Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tying me up and letting his minions get their way with me. At that young age, I thought it was a pretty clear sign. Then, in some of my first sexual experiences I found myself getting turned on most when the guy just did what he wanted (within reason, of course).

-snort-

For me it was a crush on "Master" Splinter ... I was so creeped out that I was secretly in love with an imaginary rat though. Really warped me for a long time.

Unlike a lot of people I see around here though, I don't feel like I -must- express myself as a submissive in order to be happy or fulfilled within a relationship. I mean, I have a submissive personality and that isn't likely to change but if I find myself in love with someone who has no interest in kink or is even (whoa!) submissive himself, I don't see myself having any hangups over being in that relationship.

Maybe I'm not a twue sub. I dunno. But thats another thread.

I believe it is a bit of both.  I have always been a sub since early on in our marriage but that side of me had not been brought out until the last month or so when we started to pursue a different path in our marriage.
