My apologies if this is the wrong place for this, but does anyone know where I could get an engraved nameplate for a chainmaille collar I am making? im looking for something about 3-4" long and about 1" tall, that has the title I gave to my pet engraved on it... I went to a guy locally that specialises in custom jewelry and engravings (he made some silver armands for me a while back) but he refused to make it on "moral grounds" I want either silver or Niobium for the metal... any leads would be most helpful, thanks!

Go to any shop that does engraving, trophies etc.

Ill give it another go on the engravers... just a pain in the ass since they invariably ask what its for, and im too lazy to lie to people

You might also try an online engraver place. Buy a bracelet or somesuch. They tend not to ask questions, and unless you call your pet something ridiculously obscene, you shouldn't have a problem, then you can alter it slightly to fit your chainmail.

I'd just say its a gift and leave it at that!

Sometimes being vauge and not volunteering anything is good in a small town or an area with "morals." :)

It's simple but it might work

Have you tried a store like Things Remembered?

I had the insignia he tattooed on me engraved in a money clip for my Master for his birthday a couple of years ago. It was hard to find and a bit costly since the engraver had to create an initial template for it all, but she found a way to do it and it turned out really good. Since it was so long ago, I can't remember where it was - somewhere on the East Coast. But I found her through the web by Googling "custom engraving" or something like that. You may have to ship it out to be done.
