Well... you had to expect it at some point when the computer models failed and scare mongers realized Hurricanes were not going to destroy DC, New York and Boston anytime soon.

Do you know this guy is saying global warming is happening and is caused by human activity? This paper argues that global warming might not cause an increase in hurricane activity in the Atlantic. He does quite clearly state that warmer weather and warmer water farther north will see hurricanes going farther north.

I take it you came into this argument with a conclusion already firmly set in your mind? Like a republican with ties to the oil industry?

Wake up. Even George Bush admits it's happening.

...now.

As for hurricanes going further north....technically that could happen even today. However hurricanes are not steered based on water temperature. Their steering currents are in the upper layers of the atmosphere. Water temperature above 80 degrees F is what a hurricane needs to maintain it's convection. But unless those steering currents shift in the high layers of the atmosphere, hurricane steering patterns will remain unchanged.

Tropical experts also say that with global warming we would have LESS hurricanes...not more.

Now do you understand why I take alternative news with the same weight as mainstream ? It can change from one day to another.

So which is better for you now, margarine or butter ?

That`s not true.

Can you link the info and/or name the "experts" you speak of?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course the ocean temp.,air temp and jet streams/air currents inter-relate and/or influence each other.
They all exist within a 2-3 mile thin layer around our globe.
The egg shell around the egg so to speak,thin compared to the width and mass.
How can those forces not be related?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To the phony OP.

There are tens of thousands of scientist who believe that the warming trend exists.Tens of thousands who believe that the climate change is man made.

The white house has acknowledged this as well.

There is only a tiny fraction(comparatively) of scientists who don`t agree.Most(more than half)of them are employed by corporate America/oil companies.

So what?

Are you keeping track of the number of scientists who agree w/ global warming?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
General:
The pro-smokestack/pro-polluter types want to couch this subject as a political battle.With scientists "flipping",like this was about an ideology.
It`s not like that.
This is cold science.It`s not opinion, not about industry paid research and not about one or two scientists.
This is about scientific consensus.A few decenters doesn`t change that.
World wide scientific consensus can not be bought or "fixed",by interested parties.
Scientific consensus comes from the input of researchers,scientists and analysts from every country and part of the globe.
The data has been being collected for decades and is there to analyze,the temps,trends and movements are there to see and also can`t be bought or fixed.
Don`t listen to those with a political agenda.
Air,water,environment and a future for our children`s children are not political things.
They are essential things and need to be considered w/out this BS.They are to important for cheap political tricks.
What else is he wrong about?
The cracks get bigger and deeper and soon (though not soon enough) "Man Made" Global Warming will be outted for the HOAX that it is.
I'm reminded of the single celled organisms sloshing around in the primordial soup, hundreds of millions of years ago, as they debated the validity of the “single celled organism induced global warming” theory, during the periodic cycles of  heating and cooling that were going on even then.
