I know this might sound silly, but are there actually blueprints available for some of the more popular bondage constructions?
Fox and I were chatting about what we plan on having when we have our own home. I will be building an outbuilding to serve as a photostudio, and posibly a playroom if I have larger and harder to hide things. Plus they could make for better photo props.
I am EXTREMELY capable of doing my own work with building. I plan on doing most of the construction on the building myself, to ake sure any rooms and whatnot I would like make it into the plans. I thought, then, that building my own equipment cant be much of a challenge if I can build my own barn. (And yes, I have actually had expereince with that, I built one for my grandparents with the help of a couple of cousins when I was 17)

So back to the question: Do they actually have available blueprints? I have no issues improvising and I am sure I will to amke things I think I'll like. I have searched, but since I am not exactly a pro at figuring out what things are called, I havent found anything. Part of the problem is I know what the equipment looks lile, but no clue what the names are. Any ideas would be quite welcome.

DV

side note: none of this will be happening for at least a year maybe more depending on when we find a house. However, I see no reason t wait until I have the time to do it to start my research. Id ratehr htave a score of projects ready to run as soon as I have the time to work on them.

Here is a book with plans, called "The Better Built Bondage Book:  A complete guide to making your own sex toys, furniture, and BDSM equipment."

LMAO I just ordered this damn book not but a week ago.

It takes about a MONTH to arrive so be patient and the Plans are VERY BASIC not to detailed but the best part of it all is that they look differnt then the carbon copy stuff you see everywhere when you get into the scene.

His approach to the St Andrews Cross is VERY different. I liked it though and will be building one myself because they are supposed to be easily storeable.

** I also happen to be building my own plans for a few Larger Toys I will let you know how they work out and if I like them alot I will be making Blueprints and complete Building plans for them. Maybe not Professional Grade Blueprints but certainly Idiot Proof ... I mean if I made it anyone can.**

I am not a huge fan of all of his designs, but its a good starting point

When i've skimmed the available books, i find myself thinking, well, duh... And this is coming from someone who wouldn't dare set foot in a barn if he built it himself! [8D]

Personally, i've found that if you are good at improvising and construction, the better route is surfing porn.
Yes!
Seriously, though... most bondage furniture is a variation of a small number of basic designs. If you have a handle on what types of joints, hardware, and reinforcement to use depending on the force and direction of load, you can wing just about anything, particularly if you've got a willing model to take measurements off of. i just find something i like, preferably with photos of it from a few different angles, reverse-engineer it in my head, take a few measurements, and away i go.

However, there are two other books i'm aware of for BDSM projects-

This guy is my hero. I look at his furniture and admire his work tremendously. I use his work as an example to aspire to.

This site http://www.foxyfurniture.com/index.html has some nice free plans for "hide in plain site" stuff that I love.

Thank yall, im geting some great ideas so far. Angel might not fully appreciate my efforts since none of this stuff floats his boat... but I am sure Fox will enjoy it.
