Hello denizens of collarme,

I am moving to Atlanta (more specifically Alpharetta) in a few months (depends on when my company finally sets up the office there) and was hoping to find some people who could help me get in touch with the local scene.

Other than that you can read my profile to see more about me

Have an excellent afternoon

Hey, AdeptEngineer!  I took a peek at your profile, and it left me confused as to what you're actually looking for in a partner.  I haven't read a single profile yet where the man is seeking a brainless half-wit for a life partner.  My advice is to really think about what you want and be more specific.  Maybe this thread will help you....

You are right, I most certainly wasn't clear in my profile. I added a journal entry last night that I think helped just a bit but I will set aside some time to write some more in my profile.

Thanks for the help!

welcome to collarme

the local scene is pretty active www.1763.net

and there are numerous local muches around but, i dont really indulge in that aspect, i'm more into the privateness of the scene.

Best wishes

Welcome to GA.  I'm one of the folks you might happen to run into at 1763.  Depending on when you get here, there is also SouthEast Leather Fest in June, and Dom Con in October.

Though I'm not in Atlanta Myself, I can promise you that there are some wonderful lifestyle people there.

Oh.  I forgot to mention, there is a bit of culture shock when moving here, if you've never lived in the South.  We transplanted yankees have to learn about grits and NASCAR.

Thanks!

I will try to make SouthEast Leather Fest, looks like fun.

No worries, I went to high school in marietta, not all that long ago :P

Still, I agree. It was a *big* culture shock when I first moved here. I may have gone to a southern high school and a southern university but I am a yankee at heart.

Never have (and likely never will) understand grits or NASCAR... Why some people drive 800 miles to see a car drive around a track for 500 miles is beyond me.

Thanks :)

I am only in Atlanta for two years (less if everything goes smoothly), give or take a few months, and I get to spend a few weeks here and there traveling to south america, africa and europe. That should help keep things fresh.
