Evening Ladies, Gentlemen

so I switch, and when I top, I top ladies. I've recently started playing with an adorable sub with a body made for breast bondage. i've never played this way before and would like to start reading all I can about how to play safely. I've heard rumours that permanent damage can be done if you aren't careful, but I'm low on details.

I realize that it might be appropriate to post this in the "ask a master" forum, but I feel like I know who's who here, and know whom to trust advice from.

So, can anyone help me out?

Not a mistress, but I've bound a few breasts. They are remarkably resilient. The main risk of damage is loss of circulation. Depending on the breasts, this may be less of a concern. When getting to know the sub monitor sensation, appearance and temperature of bound areas. Limit extreme ties to 15 minutes or so.

Other concerns are nerve impingement and muscle tears. These are primarily concerns when great force is applied at the base of the breast. And by great force, I'm talking from something like a breast suspension.

This topic might be most appropiate in the health and safety forum.

I've seen women suspended by their boobs (although this really only works whent he woman has a very low overall body weight). I think the usual rules apply for any kind of rope bondage - monitor the color and temperature (as was mentioned) and communicate well with your partner (preferably starting slow and discussing during & after the state of the boobage).

It's my opinion that breasts (because of how big of an attachment point they have to the trunk of the body) have very good circulation from a number of veins. I would feel a lot more comfortable tightly tying a breast than I would a limb. You've probably never seen a mamogram. They literally take a boob and smash it (often quite hard) between two pieces of glass (or some sort of plastic?).

Some women have extremely sensitive breasts, so putting them in bondage which tightens the skin can make them even more sensitive to torture. I don't think you need to even go anywhere near the point of questionable safey to get a pretty good response with a tightly tied breast and a few needles

Read Jay Wiseman's books - his safety and medical advice is right on. I would definitely not recommend suspending from the breasts. It has been known to pull/rip the muscle free of the body cavity making lovely "perky 24 year old breasts instantly saggy 75 year old breasts". In fact right at the moment there is a discussion on the main yahoo rope group where a rigger for a biographical movie in I think it is Denmark - who is trying to recreate some actual breast susepnsion scenes between a judge and his wife (he was incarcerated I believe). The overwhelming consensus of the preimenent riggers who have responded is that the rigger should not do what the felonious judge did thereby suspending the actress by her breats alone. Just asking for permenent damage.

There are some very specific ties that are tried and true. Midori, Bridget Lee Harrison to name a few have some in their books. If doing a "cupcake" type tie - the breasts can become quite purple and upon removal of the rope are super sensitive often in a really good way. There are some really useful ropearts yahoo sites that you can get lots of advice from as well. And depending on where you live most communities have erotic rope enthusiasts groups where folks teach each other the ins and outs of rigging. Have fun.
