BlackSakura -> How do you store your toys? (5/21/2008 5:41:04 PM)

My toy bag has started to grow and I don't know how to properly store some things such as rubber toys so that they don't get fuzzies and lent, metal, floggers, etc.  What do you store your toys in?

a wooden box

they are a cinch to make, and with the right stain really add something extra...

mine was destroued by my now ex-wife, so im making another one :)
with rubber seals along the edge you will never have to worry about dust

We keep floggers in gun cases.  Each flogger is stored in its own tube sock.  Dildoes, clamps, and other small toys are put into sealable plastic bags.  Before we go to a party we select those toys we wish to take with us and then those things get placed in a suitcase on wheels for easy transportation.

In the back of my closet I have nails that I hang the flogger from or you can lay them flat without any bends.  Plastic bags for the other stuff.  Those Rubbermade bins at Walmart work well to store things in.  There are even some that are made to slide under the bed.

Wish we could store things under the bed, but under my bed is a 450 hp diesel engine as we live full time in a motor home.  We have to think outside the box to find places to put our things.  The leather pieces for crafts were hung from hooks in the bedroom until i suggested storing them flat under the mattress.  That leaves the hooks available for hanging clothes.

I have under bed storage for the majorty of my toys. I do have my whips hanging up in my closet. The rubber toys are stored together in a drawer in the night stand, and each has its own plastic bag to keep it from gathering anything unsightly. Thankfully, most of my stuff rinses off nicely, so I dont worry too much about fluff at playtime. I can just go wash them up and have at it.

Yup, plastic bags seem to be the universal solution to keeping lint off of your insertables (i swear some of them are made out of the same material as those magic pet-hair brushes... they're like magnets!)
One solution i've seen for keeping your floggers untangled is to store them in lengths of PVC pipe from the hardware store. You can also lay them out flat on a towel, fold the towel, set out another layer, fold it again, etc.
Rubber clothing is going to be tricky if kept in a bag... in a dresser you usually keep them separated by tissue paper, not sure how to keep them intact in a bag.
Make sure you keep any non-silicone insertables separate from your leather, and your ropes, silks, and especially woven rope floggers away from anything with velcro...  Leather dyes can bleed, and velcro can ruin a rope flogger... DAMHIK.

Personally, we don't do much traveling with our toys, and we're child-free adults with our own home, so we've got a playroom with stuff hanging on the walls, dedicated cabinets, etc...

If you don't have flogger bags hair scuncies work great to keep floggers tangle free when transporting them in a toy bag to a party.

we keep everything in the open, have 1 shelving unit., for small items all on display

the rest, floggers, whips , and other big items are on hooks, all neatly lined up, its easy for us we have our own dungeon in a 16x16 room, and all furniture is built by myself, and when you walk in for the first time, you cant help but be intimidated a bit, and thats how i love it

It's the RUBBER that set me into thought.

Please forgive me if this is not what you were refering to.

Dildos as well as Latex and other Synthetic materials can be stored many ways the best we have found so far is to wash them Dry them and then Dust them with either Baby Powder (Talcum Power) or even Baking Powder will work in a Pinch and then we place them in grocery Bags or Gallon Ziploc Bags and then we put all of them into a Rolling Bag where all the toys go. The rolling bag USED to be one small enough for carry on we just got a new one that is almost half as tall as I am. BIG BAG

If that was what you were refering to I have many other Toy (Sex Toy) storage.

We don't have UMs to worry about, so our bedroom door is almost always open. Our items which need to hang are hung behind the door. It is a thrill all it's own when Master shuts the door...

Those plastic containers do work wonders.

Since I do travel a lot with My toys, I've found the thing that works best is using those thigh highs that tend to get destroyed.  Wash them, cut off the foot and you have a nylon sheath.  This prevents tangles, dust, keeps them organized and paired together.

TwistedLeather -> RE: How do you store your toys? (5/24/2008 2:02:22 AM)

my toys are locked up in a large toolbox. For the ones i have to take extra care with, i have lint free "bags" for. But otherwise, they keep pretty clean in the box. As for whips and floggers... well, all you have to do is look at my profile pic to know how we store them! [sm=LMAO.gif]

We've each a large, plastic, sealing footlocker that is used for main storage and when I got to play somewhere with someone, I load up my batbag with the gear I'll most likely be needing or wanting.  I've a separate bag that is my permanent first-aid and medical/cutting/piercing-play bag.

I've seen folks use some really great rolling toolboxes... the metal or heavy plastic ones that have large storage areas and spreadable smaller sections.

The "mesh" laundry bags work well for separating your toys also.

csipro -> RE: How do you store your toys? (5/25/2008 8:24:53 PM)

we just keep them in a cardboard box up on a shelf out of reach of the kids.
though I am planning a bed build that should have spce to store, things... ;)

Ananke -> RE: How do you store your toys? (5/25/2008 11:09:34 PM)

Mine are mostly suede floggers and horse whips, which are stored away in the wardrobe. When I make another rubber flogger I'll probably put it in a calico bag to hang, so it doesn't collect lint.

There are lovely big tool boxes at hardware stores that would do for taking things out or storing for long times. Other than that, a decent duffle bag should contain everything and keep it clean.

DelilahDeb -> RE: How do you store your toys? (5/25/2008 11:29:47 PM)

A friend tipped me to a great trick for floggers: take a long sock or stocking (used is fine, a hole in the toe or heel is no matter), reach in to the toe so that it covers your arm, grab the flogger by the handle and grasp the tips of the falls through your sock-covered hand and hold tight while you pull the flogger inside the sock as it comes off your arm. Keeps the falls straight AND from tangling with other toys or floggers. It doesn't matter if the handle is covered (handles don't tangle) unless you want to protect a fancy handle.

It has greatly simplified my packing, that and skeining my hanks of rope.
That technique is just the same as my embroidery threads: loop or fold a length into a handful that I can grasp between my outstretched hands, then step on the center and bring hands together to make one bundle that I then twist until it is a little "overwound"...and then fold the handful over my elbow and grab the loop at my toe, and let the extra twist (un)wind the newly doubled skein together, tuck the ends through the loop end and there's a 12- to 18-inch hank of rope. Works for me.

Most of the toys are in one of those cushy boxes they sell at Target.  The box looks like a footstool, only can be easily opened to put stuff in or pull stuff out.

Anything not in that cushy box is in the bedside stand.  They say your household assistant (aka your cleaning lady) knows everything about you... I suppose over time, that's true enough.  I am rather certain my helper has come across at least the bedside-stand stuff in the past.

Asherdelampyr -> RE: How do you store your toys? (5/28/2008 5:07:28 PM)

I wear mine, with the pants I wear, nobody would notice anyway :P

seriously though, the zipper bags work great, and come in huge sizes!!! (the ones with the lil plastic zipper-thingy)
