i have a lot of Polymorphe latex that tends to stick together when not lubricated - the problem is, i do not like storing it in powder and the bodyglide eventually dries... any suggestions on other ways to store it?

i've checked the site and there is nothing on storage. i've sent an email two days ago and have not gotten a response. i've even asked the one store where i buy most of my polymorphe latex and they tell me to store it in powder and in large ziploc bags, but i wanted to see if anyone else on the board had another suggestion i might try instead, since i loathe powder on my latex.

I would be surprised if you get any other suggestions. Why is it you loathe the powder so much?

it's messy and my fetish for latex stems from wearing it as "second skin" - i want to sweat in it, and i want to slide in it - powder just makes those things hard and very messy.

it's amazing to me the different types of latex - my De Mask and Baroness latex pieces do not stick together, and the one Skin Two piece i have sticks together ever so slightly... but Polymorphe happens to be my favorite designer, but his latex always sticks together so much that i literally cringe when ripping it apart to put a piece that i haven't worn in a while on my body.

i suppose i'll have to keep my favorite pieces in large ziploc bags filled with bodyglide. expensive, but perhaps worth it.

you might want to check out the opinions on the international association of rubberists site. They have a suggestion for even treating latex so that it has that silky and less sticky quality that my demask pieces also seem to have. It sounds cool, but personally I would not risk the stuff to my own chemistry skills. TONS of opinions on storage.

I don't have polymorphe pieces. I used to powder mine but was told not to by enough people that I quit it. I've taken to using a little silicone lube to just keep things from sticking after a wash.

Just powder it for storage then wipe the latex down with a wet cloth before putting it on to remove the powder.

Being a dom and therefore a very very lazy bastard I would buy me a couple bags of dessicant.....(water remover) assuming the shit is clean when you are ready to store it..............put the whole fuckaree in a vacuum travel bag and either give it a blowjob or put the hoover(mechanical) to it.......the problem is in oxidation....you got none...well you just got none......

#1) hang it
#2) store it with talc (not oil based powders) and shine it (black beauty (meh) or silocone based lube (shinier but leaves a small amount of residue which from you seem to enjoy from your post, won't be a problem) when you want to wear it
#3) roll it don't fold it
#4) use Eros body Glide (less expensive silicone lubes will work as well; Eros is the best for interpersonal play of the silicone lubes I've sampled) liberally, place in as close to an air-tight bag as possible. Ziplocs?
#5) lay it flat and put tissue paper between the layers

Greetings,

Wolfies last post agrees with the only way that I have found will keep all that expensive rubber safe.

My wife has had to ship and store a quantity of rubber apparel from England to Australia and with the help of the people at Skin Two it all arrived safe and has been in storage for about a year. A recent inspection found that all was well with minimal problems.

The wiping of the garments and repowdering and proofing was a small price to pay considering the value and scarcity of the garments

Ive tried that.. by the time you take it out.. good luck getting it apart without damaging it.

Especially if its anywhere warm.. sun hitting the dresser, upper shelf of closet etc.

but my thought was that she had bodyglide on it and was trying to keep it from drying out on the garment rather than using more expensive lubes. I wouldn't ever store those things in warm places even overnight unless of course it was in direct business use. If someone (and I could see it easily misconstrued that way) thought that I meant to put it away dry..........my apologies. Additonally, talc is kinda toxic in quantity, it is mined with asbestos. cornstarch a better idea if you powder.

With my heavy rubber Ive had some hellacious fights seperating layers stored with lube. XD

Try wrapping your latex items in acid free tissue paper, making sure that the paper covers all shiny sides of the item. You have to work super slowly when packing it away but it will be worth it as it will keep it from grippng to other parts of the item and eliminates that nasty poder/sweat combo. It's an excellent way of long term storage as well.

i have found cornstarch works great i just pack it in dark trash bags in a plastic tote in a dark place i have some items that are 15 years old have held up great this way keep the moistour keepss them from sticking together its bio degradable silcones are ok but i think it does more damage to us then the latex

I would suggest using talc for storage. that way when you go to put it on the silicone absorbes right into the talc, and gets super shiny. The cornstarch you have to wash off and it gets messy and mucky. you can also completely drench the latex in cult, or eros, and saturate and store it in a plastic bag or box. in an area that is not too cold or not too hot.
