Status: offline 		Lots of back and forth going on regarding Barack Obama stating that he intends on having talks with countries like Iran, if he wins the presidency.
 
Some say this is not only not going to help anything, but may be harmful.

Status: offline 		I'm one of those people that believes in trying, trying to communicate and to see the other side of things so yes I think it would be short-sighted and foolish to not speak to those that oppose us.

Status: offline 		hmmmm. well when we say gruel - its a pretty wide description Jenny. The ingredients list to make it includes notices that the product may contain - well, almost anything actually.

On an unrelated matter - are you by any chance allergic to skinks?

Status: offline 		I just Googled em. I adore lizards and snakey things in part because they devour bugs which in turn terrify me.So skinks and gruel are in and bugs are out. (get it? bug out? HA) I now declare skinky gruel to be an American happiness!Anyone dare oppose me? Jeez Level sorry I hijacked ya. Can I ransom you out?(that way I could buy more skinky gruel) I think the lack of food has gotten to my brain.

There are skinks here in Florida as well. Unfortunately, they cannot be used in the manufacture of gruel for they appear on the state's wildlife endangered or threatened species list.

A skink looks like a small 4" to 8" long garden snake with four little legs and feet attached. The creatures I've occasionally seen in the garden are either mostly brown or mostly blue-black. They are much cuter but more skittish than their vastly greater-in-number anole lizard. The anoles seem to number in the thousands in just my yard alone. I don't see why they couldn't be used in the manufacture of gruel, though one of my previous dogs did eat one and spent a day or two in the veterinary hospital having his... well, it's breakfast time here so I won't go into the gory details.

By the way, I too voted for the first option. We should be talking with those who are not presently our allies and/or friends. The comparison being made between now and twenty or so years ago (when the US talked to the Soviet Union and China independently) is very valid.

Just my opinion. Feed me the anoles or feed me to them... just leave the precious little skinks alone please.

Status: offline 		Its no hijack Jenny; we're talking about scaly creatures with little brainpower that run close to the ground and have no wish to do anything but prey on those smaller and weaker than them, alongside the need to have cake and the desire to eat it too.

Sounds like a US policy debate to me

Sad.... terribly sad... but even More terribly TRUE!  Although, to be fair to the skinks and anoles, if you're going to compare our current crop of politicians to lizards, let's use a lizard that is much closer to how the politicians are - the Komodo Dragon, who's bite is seriously deadly, appatite voracious and indiscriminate (they'll even eat each other if there's a food shortage or one of 'em gets wounded) ....
 
While it definately goes against the Majority of the votes in this particular poll (as if that matters to me, I've never been keen on following the herd) - my vote was "Nuke 'em - talk is overrated".  Though I would much prefer for it to have been worded as something along the lines of "nuke 'em til they glow, then shoot 'em in the dark" or perhaps "nuke 'em all, let Allah sort 'em out."
