Status: offline 		It seems to me that a lot of the profiles posted here seem to be very negative.  Not being on the Dom side of the spectrum, I am amazed at the number of profiles that seem to have set very hard limits.  Don't do this, Don't do that or I will not respond or I will delete you, etc.
I can understand making sure that all the profile has been read and if there is not some common points of interest, both Vanilla and BDSM then there is no need to communicate.  But the negative attitude, or my perception of a negative attitude is what amazes me.
Do the Mistresses here really get that many knotheaded emails? 
Maybe I am way out of line here but I am a just curious...

My Owner gets a lot a -day-

So yeah, it's not uncommon for Female Dominants to be completely spammed by every do-me-please stupid submissive from here to Thailand.

Status: offline 		I have to say so far the "automatically to the bulk folder" trick combined, I assume, with the "already got a guy, looking for a girl" factor and probably the "no really hot, mostly naked picture" factor has kept the knotheads to a bare minimum. But even with ALL that, I still get stuff.

Status: offline 		Sometimes the knockheads are out in force. I have been very lucky lately and have avoided that type of e-mailing trolls. The bulk folder is a wonderful thing. I reset the controls on it and it has really cleaned up my message folder.

I think the answer is they do get that many.  The unfortunate thing is that by putting so many limits and negative energy into their profiles to discourage the people who will likely ignore the disclaimers or not read them anyway, they make themselves unappealing to the subs who aren't knotheads and might be compatible partners for them. 
 
There are profiles I've read, such as those you mention, that turned me off so much after wading through all the "Don'ts" or "Must not be's" that I had no desire to approach her even though we might have otherwise been compatible.  I felt as though if that was her general demeanor or if she were that jaded, I wouldn't want to be around her.

Status: offline 		OH yeah, do I get the emails!  Which I neatly sort:  polite compliments always get a thank you.  Odd remarks are ignored.  More than one wacky mail gets the person blocked.  When I am in a mood, sometimes I respond to the oddballs.....like one guy asked if it would amuse me if my slave did K9, and I responded that he already had a dog.  And the guy wrote back saying he didn't know what I meant!   See, if you can't recognize sincere snark, well you deserve to get ignored!

My bulk folder is set to Other Countries, pretty much, or my friends wouldn't get through the filter! 

I agree that the negativity gives a bad impression. I say up front what I am and am NOT looking for, and that I do not respond to all messages.  I have had plenty of nice conversations with men and women who would not suit me as personal submissives but are good people and fun to talk to, so TOO much limiting is just, well,  limiting!

Status: offline 		I get absolutely insane emails sometimes.  My profile states that I am an online Domme only.  It is typical for someone to put in their first email to me that they can't wait to meet me in person.  I get people asking to move in with me, have a threesome with them and their dog, to burn their balls off, to blackmail them - and the list goes on.  I've also gotten insults on my looks (from men hoping to be disciplined for doing so), Doms who want to be my sub to fill their "other side" and if I am good enough at it they will marry me, and people who tell me that they are in love with me.

In the beginning I carefully answered every single email.  I don't have the time or patience any more.  If it is too far out then I block the user and then delete the email.

Status: offline 		I hate to say this, OP, but that exact reaction is why many have the negative things in the profiles.  It is used as a deterrent.  It does cut down on the random folks from everywhere that will send the most ridiculous things.  It's easier for Me to say right up front that I'm only interested in being contacted by people who are local for play or by people who have gotten to know Me through the message boards.  I'm always glad to hear from people I've gotten to know here, but I prefer not to have My time wasted.

Of course, this doesn't stop all of it, but I do happen to think it helps.

Status: offline 		i think it's best to clearly state what you're interested in and then hope those who do read your profile filter themselves.  cuts down on the amount of crap i've received.  that comes from those who can't be bothered to actually read beyond "female".

Status: offline 		i am with my M'Lady on this i get junk mail form other countries i think some of them are funny. i am happily married and happily collared as well but it happens some are just too excited or just looking for that fantasy of theirs and just don't read fully or check profiles first. i must say that once you are past the filter the greeting are very pleasant and very positive.

I tried to say what I wanted, what I required, and who I am in my profile.
~ Do I still get nutty e-mails.. well certainly. They see the pict, and the RED letters of my name.. and there is only so much blood to operate one head at a time.. and off another briliant email goes straight to my in box.

Some times I want to blow up.. and bitch about it.. but only the major thing that squicks me made it into my profile... the whole "Please do not address me as Mistress" bit. Nothing gets an email deleted faster then some jerk off groveling and whimpering in thier first email Mistress this and Mistress that... and being "wormy"

*shudders* ugh.. I cant stand that. Every human being has value and worth... starting off emails with I am a worthless worm just makes me want to delete it and block them. ~ pet peeve of mine ya know?

Gwyn... I was going to respond just like that, but you've already said it all. 
My profile has a bit of both.. a bit of "READ the dang profile please" and who I am, who I am looking for. 
But Pixel was right, the wankers and knotheads do not read anyway.
