Termyn8or -> RE: Is Mad Max becoming a reality? (5/23/2008 9:18:57 PM)

I saw Mad Max over a hundred times due to conditions beyond my control, until I took it home that is. The area was not mentioned, but the terrain did not look like Iraq, Iran or any other country we would expect. It may have been desert but there were hunks of vegitation. Much dead, but vegitation nonetheless. Caertain rock formations also, and that open road. To me that indicates a post war Austrailia or possibly northern Africa. They would have to be near refineries or forget it, but where did the crude come from ? It had to be nearby. I could have read it wrong though, they could have been getting tankers and oil piped in, and the marauders would leave them alone at that time, waiting for them to refine the crude. Then the war was on again. One thing, control of the refinery seemed to be of the utmost importance. That movie makes me wonder what a scortched US would look like. I think it pretty close. The whole idea of the movie is lost unless you have the chance to watch it uninterrupted a few times, or many times. T
