I think Davey Jones was my first celebrity crush, too. I thought he was SO cute. David Cassidy wasn't hard to take, either. Never could get into Donny Osmond, though.
My first real life crush was a guy named David who had the misfortune of living next door to me. Whenever David would sit at his upstairs window, my little friends and I would gaze up at him and call out, "David, we love you!" We were probably 9 or 10 and he was 16 or 17. Poor David was very good natured about the whole thing (maybe he enjoyed it?) One day his mother came out and asked which one of us was in love with her son. We all turned bright red and pointed at each other.
David used to wear his pants so tight, it was a miracle they didn't split. He also wore a leather jacket and had slicked-back hair. Some of his friends were pretty cute, too. In addition to being too old for me, my parents thought he was a "bad" boy, which only added to his appeal.
About a year later, a guy named Alex moved to the neighborhood. He was a darker-complected, darker haired version of David, and I had it BAD for him. Unfortunately, we moved away shortly thereafter and the guys in my new neighborhood weren't nearly as cute :(
