I havn't heard any King Crimson in years.  I used to have the Court album, long time ago.  I first heard King Crimson on a AM radio station out of Little Rock, late at night.  Beaker Street?  I had no idea they put out so many albums.  Guess we're showing our age.  LOL

I'm a pretty big fan myself. I like Red. Mainly for the Wetton vocals. Plus it has a certain heavy metal/prog rock sparseness that I like.

I don't care for the recent trend in putting out endless live material. While live CDs spotlight improvisational virtuosity, I prefer the more considered approach of studio albums. And King Crimson is the thinking man's prog rock band.

I've met the band backstage before, and while Fripp was notably absent (of course! Dick!) Adrian Belew was very affable and talkative. All the band members were great actually.

In concert Fripp played with his back to the audience on a giant high chair. Did I mention he was a total dick?

To be honest, I've never heard of them.

I am happy to report that I was curious and went to Utube and they had some videos of King Crimson. Heard Elephant Talk, Asturious (sp?), and One Time. I am now a fan. Better late than never. *smile*

I had their first few albums and Lizard was my favorite of those, but there were some later ones with Adrian Belew that I liked as much and maybe more. Dunno the names of those, though.

Well it would have been easier with a top three poll, there are things to recommend in each incarnation of the band. Starless and Red are great for the Bruford / Wetton rhythm section. I voted tor Discipline because if I could only have one... (The opening to Elephant Talk is the clincher.)

Now Shug, don't be cruel to Robert. He's the wizzard, the hermit and the piece of grit on which the snowflake forms. It's not his job to be the nice guy.

Yeah,I can`t narrow it down to one.If I had to pick just one,it`s Court of the Crimson King.

I once saw Pat Robertson include King Crimson in his list of satanic music groups.lol

I voted for Red as well. I don't like all of the album, but the half that works is probably my favorite half of a rock album of all time.

I like the Larks' Tongue In Aspic/Starless and Bible Black/Red era the best ... power chords!
