My very favorite is going to make anyone wonder how someone with such healthy tastes can grow to this size.... I like sliced bell peppers, sliced cucumbers, sliced tomatoes, some crunchy sprouts, and avocado. If the tamotoes are good and juicy, that is enough, if you have to settle for those plastic things they grow in hot houses, you are going to need a dash of a really good vinegar. salt and pepper always good. My first husband taought me bread and butter sandwiches - choose a good bread, butter it (real butter is necessary for this) and lay on lots of sliced bell peppers, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. what's that Racheal Ray says - yummers. I love BLTs, without the L (i can't STAND L), but i worried about all the fat from the B part, and slowly discovered that what i really love is fresh, juicy ripe slices of summer tomatoe on toast. again, if its good and juicy, that is enough, but a dash of basalmic or redwine can correct it if it not midsummer. To answer the first question i posted, if i love such healthy foods - well, another great favorite of mine is 'Manhattens' - hot left over - something - (meatloaf, roastbeef, turkey, pork roast whatever) on toasted bread with a pickle, a scoop of stuffing, a scoop of mashed potatoes and some gravy. Oh, and, on the big ol' bloody slice of cow (which does very well describe how i like my steak) subject - slowly and gently cooked (so as to stay nice and tender - the crockpot is great) cow tongue, on good bread, with good mustard and sharp cheddar cheese, is absolutely great! But, Master will not go there. <sigh> there is really no such thing as a left over that will not make a fine sandwich if you butter both sides of a good bread and shove it in a triangle food machine ( a sandwich grill machine. they come in semicircles, now, too, to better emphasize that they make quick omeletes of your l.o.s as well)
