Very true. Speaking of which, shouldn't that stuff be reported more? I'd like to see a magazine that focuses on Senators as much as some magazines focus on celebrities. I am so sick of "CHANGE - We Can Believe In" and "Yes We Can" I could puke! There's a developing story that Obama got elected to the Illinois Congress in 1996 by getting his three Democratic opponents' (including popular incumbant Alice Palmer's) petitions to have their names on the ballot invalidated, so Obama was the only Democrat on the ballot in a heavily Democratic district.

Repeal the 17th Ammendment, go back to State governments selecting their Senators. Right now the people of the State of Georgia have representation. However the State of Georgia has less representation in DC than France does. Nobody up there is operating on behalf of the State Governments, instead they have to play around with making sure they do things that are popular with the people rather than voting in the interests of the States. We have representation for the people of the state they are called Representatives. Changing Senators would tend to happen every once in awhile when the Governor's office shifts hands.

As previously mentioned, perhaps limiting campaigning to the month preceding the election, in conjunction with public financing of the campaigns, is the way to go.

65 and out is a good idea. But I think there should probably also be a 3 term limit. That is long enough to do whatever you need to do, or whatever you promised to do.
