I am a self confessed petrol head and as such I like just about everything automotive.

One of my loves is movies with a car or bike theme/plot or includes cars or bikes.

I would like to know if there are other like minded souls out there and if so what are your favourites?

My personal favourites are as follows:-

Mad Max one and two..........Bullit.........Vanishing Point.........

Two Lane Blacktop.........The Blues Brothers.........

American Graffiti.........Terminator 2..........Starsky and Hutch........

Both versions of Gone in 60 Sec's(the one with NC just because of the awesome '67 shelby).........

Both versions of The Italian Job(I prefer the first one)...........

Streets of fire..........Ronin........McQ.........Stone Cold..........

Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man..........Gator.........

Easy Rider............The Gauntlet..........Gumball Rally.............

Grandprix...........Le Man's............The great escape...........

So again how about it people any favourites or perhaps you like some that I've already mentioned?

Edited because I forgot to add truck movies. Lol

Convoy...........Black Dog..........

I'm not really sure how Terminator two is a driving film just because someone happens to drive a car/bike at times in it.

Harley davidson and the Marlboro man, I dont see as a bike movie either. The plot is not centered around the car or bike.

Bullit has a really cool car chase scene.

Of course all the Burt Reynold's car movies:
Smokey and the Bandit (I love Smokey and the Bandit.)  Hitchcock called it one of his guilty pleasures.
Cannonball Run
Stroker Ace
Hooper

Let's see, you've already covered most of those that I'd list... The Road Warrior being a primary one...

"Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies" with Tony Curtis?
"The Great Race"
"Stingray"
"Diamonds on Wheels" (Some of the best MGTC porn!)
"Death Race 2000" ("Nobody kills MY navigator, and gets away with it!")
"The Gods Must Be Crazy" (With the running gag of the anti-christ... the rover that can't be stopped!)

I forgot 'Used Cars' with Kurt Russell.  It came out in 1980.  It is a hillarious movie.

Well it could be argued that both The Great Escape and Streets of Fire aint driving movies either.

But I did say movies with bikes and cars in them.

"Death Proof"
"Goldfinger/Thunderball"
"The Cars That Ate Paris" (the city, not Hilton)
"Werewolves on Wheels"

Oh, yeah, and I recently found a company in the pages of Filmfax magazine that offers those great old driver's ed "scare" saftey films, like "Blood on the Highway" and "Danger Behind the Wheel" I haven't had a chance to order them yet, but they should be a great trip down memory lane!

Apparently "Hollywood" are gonna make a remake of Bullit starring Brad Pitt of all people with the new "Bullit" Mustang!

Is it Bullit or Bullitt, I think its Bullitt. lol

Ok...you have a point...but then the movies I've mentioned that featured cars or bikes also had some kind of chase seen in them.

In T2 the Fatboy and the tow truck, in HD and the MM the Harley v the Honda for example.

'Wraith',

Why, because of the car, a GMC pace car, only one of it's kind in the world and reported to have cost $6,000,000

Plus of course all those American classics it races.
