Before I start, please dont bother posting "this is dangerous" ... thats why its called edge play. Anyway, Why would a Dom want to do a lumber puncture? Cant find anything on the net.

Lumbar Puncture...also known as a spinal tap. Becuase they're a neurologist who REALLY likes their job? Edited to add: Forgive me for being a sarcastic ass. I serve a Woman who had Her L3-4-5 fused together becuase the ligaments between were ripped apart due to a car accident. If one suffers severing in this area they not only loose all lower body function they loose control of their bladder and bowels. Nerve damage in this area causes painful sensations in the legs and often causes stenosis and spasms. Let's not mention the more you "tap" the spine, the more likely one is to suffer from degenerative issues for tissue in the area. This shit don't heal like the rest of your body. Treatement for this particular dumb choice is incredibly costly mentally emotionally and finacially.

There is edge play and there is what you are talking about. You need medical training to be able to perform that without causing serious spinal injury. If he/she has that type of training then apparently they enjoy it thats why. Mike

I understand its Edge Play... But Lumbar puncture's HURT .....not a pleasant thing .... ~just my two cents~

If he spelled it as lumber puncture, I doubt he has the training to do it.

they dont just hurt they are to hurt ... what the mole hill in my garden is to the American Rockies .. trust me .. one was enough for my entire lifetime which is why someone wants to do them ... you ( as the bottom) are in a position of extreme vulnerability and having to trust also to an extreme, the pain is something that nothing else really recreates for you, and the Dominant is able to perfrom a piece of Topping which shows an extreme level of flair and skill ... along with a dollop of stupidity and hubris

As someone who has had 15 lumbar punctures in my life I can tell you that it is not something that I would ever let anyone do in play. My last one left me hospitalized for a week. The spot on your back that needs to be hit is about the size of a BB. Outside of that you can end up paralyzed. My last one, done by a neurologist, needled a nerve and it felt like a million bees were stinging my legs for the next week. Oh and...I couldn't walk either. Other complications involve how much spinal fluid is drawn. Too much and you just sucked your brain stem down your spine and have cut off the flow of spinal fluid. Can you say chronic vegetative state? Not to mention the spinal headaches that can follow a tap. Trust me on this when I tell you that you have most likely never experienced a headache of such an intensity. I've had more than my fair share of pain in this world and those headaches are the kind of pain that make you feel like you will go absolutely stark raving crazy if it doesn't stop right this instant. I'm all for edge play....do a lot of it myself...but there is a big difference between edge play and bat shit crazy. So if I were you I would SERIOUSLY consider the risks unless the thought of tube feedings or having to have someone wipe your ass for the rest of your life is appealing to you.

Unless the person wanting to perform a Lumbar Puncture is a DR. I would * and this is just me * tell him only after I got to do one to him first.... That is insane on so many levels... My oldest daughter had one when she was born ... less than two hours old... and them messed it up .... and she was a baby and has issues from it..... NOT GOOD .....

And for their next trick.... open heart surgery... by the untrained using a rusty spoon and a bicycle pump. I understand 'edge play' but there are some things you don't touch unless you are trained.... and if you are trained, you know enough to know THAT ain't 'play'... not unless you have a fetish for a wheelchair bound sub!

My forte' is needle play bit it diesn't mean that I will try some things better left to someone wiith a vast amount of knowledge and experience as a physician. I may have qualified as a paramedic with experience in abdominal surgery in battle field conditions but it does not qualify me to remove your apendix unless you are about to become very dead and no medical help available.. Wow edge play is STILL in the paramaters of SSC....that whole lumbar thing (thankfull i have never experienced it, but hell i hear enough horror stories from my nurse friend...) is so not....thats not even RACK (no im not dissing on the RACKers.... infact i like alot of em lol)
