Willowmoon -> Any slave had their Masters change their names legaly not just in play? (6/2/2008 1:10:18 AM)

Has anybodies Maste required them to legally change their name?

Master gave me a 'slave' name a while ago now and I love it so much more then my birth name as it actaully has meaning to it. (My birth name was not the one my mother meant for me but the one that came out of her mouth when she was high on painkillers)

I would love to have Master have me change my name legally to the one of his desire. To me it would be a huge sign of my acceptance of his control and my slavery. A symbol much like a collar is to a lot of slaves but a symbol that could not be taken off at a whim (or even with a key) To do that for my Master would be me saying I am yours, I am your property, your slave, your pet, your girl as afterall he was the one that named me just like a person gives their new pet cat or dog a name.

Perhaps the constant rain for the last week is making my brain mushy and I am being a hopeless romantic fool but right now this idea really appeals to me.

The government has a document to change your name, it is called marriage. Why involve the government?

Some of us are lucky enough to have been given names that are translatable as proper first names, and yes, sometimes i have thought about it, but come to the conclusion that even the one i have would necessitate a tad too much explaining, and i am too long in the tooth to be bothered with all that.

Besides, when my Master uses it and nobody else it remains something unique and special just between the two of us, and i rather like the feeling that gives me, that warm happy glow.

It is definately a new 'twist' on the whole ownership thought and pretty interesting.  And unlike a branding or some other physical mark, if the worst happened, it can be easier to change.  Not sure about the US or other countries, but here you change by Deed Poll.  I haven't seen a post on CMabout this specifically before.

Ummm...marriage changes your LAST name and only if you're female.  I think she's talking about changing her FIRST name.  Last time I checked saying I do didn't change that.

dark, its not called deed poll, but yes you can legally change your name in the states, too.  cost varies by state.

i consider changing my name because i abhorr the name mama chose for me.  i also think she had FAR too much time on her hands when she was pregnant with me, she chose my name and my brother's, we both have the same number of letters in each name, as well as having the same initials till i married.

and since you can change your full name when you marry....it just might happen.  [sm=yahoo.gif]

I'm assuming you're referring to your FIRST name as Aileen said.

My Master tell me about changing my first name too. For me is a very special idea and a brave way to show my submission to Him. But we must to discard the idea because two reasons: I have my own business (I'm accountant) and I'm afraid to lose my customers (yes, this is a world of appereances...), and the second one, we are from Spain and  here the Civil Register Office doesn't permit names with "kinky" meanings or even with dubious meanings.

It's a pity... but I like the idea anyway.

I tend to play the pessimist when it comes to changing things forever for your dom-I can't picture a permanent mark that I'll have to wear (or carry) forever when there's always the potential that the partner I've been marked for can do something horrible and then I'm stuck. While a name is reasonably easy to change, for any reason, it doesn't seem like a particularly sexy thing to me. In addition to being stuck with a name if you should ever break up, changing a name just largely seems to involve a hell of a lot of paperwork. Paperwork-not so sexy.
Perhaps if you and your dom were to get married, then it'd be considerably easier to change your name (since you're already doing so anyways). That way, you would have considerably less explaining to do to jobs, schools, potential jobs or schools, family, friends, and everyone.

Although I'm still having a hard time imagining somebody legally named, "pet" or "girl" or "slave". [:)]

my ex changed his first name and his last name when he married wife #3.  he took her last name and changed his first name legally to his nickname. so it can be done.

1. Yes I am talking about my first name.

2. We are getting maried next year but to change your first name you have to do it separatly anyway.

3. Not that much paperwork here just one small form, show your birth cert and Id stuffs and pay $58 dollars

4. In some states of Australia it is called deed pole.

5. The name Master gave me doesn't have a kinky meaning, it means delicate, graceful and beautiful.

I would assume it requires extra paperwork to change the first name?  I'm not sure about that though...you know...that whole assume thing.   I can't imagine that it's all that common though.

littleone35 -> RE: Any slave had their Masters change their names legaly not just in play? (6/2/2008 6:49:23 AM)

I would not do that for 2 reasons

1.  I am named after my mother and it would really hurt her if i changed it

2.  I don't think i want to have everyone call me sweetheart  (that is what Master calls me).  It is special to us.

On a certain level, it would be awesome to me to change my name legally to what he calls me, but honestly... can I go through life with the name 'Bitch'... not realistically.  And I do agree with what I saw somebody say about it being special between them.... so, I suppose I would say "no" in my case, but in others... hey, sure, why not?-- Bitch

cantilena -> RE: Any slave had their Masters change their names legaly not just in play? (6/2/2008 7:43:38 AM)

This has been a long time fantasy of mine.  All about love, control, possession... yum.  For me, it'll never make the harsh light of real life, but then, not everything has to.

Oh, nice! In that case, why are you not doing it yet?  :)

I would like to do it, but my Master calls me akahadaka. In Japanese means "nude woman" and "shameless".... no good for Spanish Laws about names...

actually he said there was another paper he had to sign, but no extra costs.  and no, it isnt all that common, but i'm definitely looking into what the laws are in texas about it.

basically you need to be able to swear you arent avoiding debt, or trying to commit fraud in changing your name.

it take $75 and a very good reason for a judge to legally change your name here in Chicago.

that being said - nope, Daddy hasn't asked me to change my name.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Any slave had their Masters change their names legaly not just in play? (6/2/2008 9:21:18 AM)

To the OP: I have heard of several people, all on the site Seek Discipline (formerly Slave Register), who have legally changed their name to something their Master chose. I don't know of any personally.

In general: If you are a female in the States, you can:

Change your last name to your husband's last name when you get married...free of charge and only the marriage lisense needed.

Change your last name to a previously used last name when you get divorced...free of charge and only the divorce decree needed.

Change you name (also true for men) in any way for a fee and paperwork which usually involves a declaration of your intent published somewhere and forms showing previous name and intended name. This can also be used to change the name on your birth certificate. Fees vary from state to state as do the number of times you can change your name this way. In NC, you can only do it once, for example. In AZ, you can do it as many times as you wish.

I changed my name some time ago to a surname of my choosing. It was easy and cheap (about $100). The hardest part is changing all your accounts, SSN, DL and any professional certifications you might have.

I believe in Canada any one can legally change their name through the government registry.  Just alot of work to do and a few bucks to do it.  Revenue Canada, Motor Vehicles, Birth Registry, etc. - but it is possible.  Not sure on the legality in the USA though.
