I remember as though it was yesturday in fact this time last year,well i was in Auburn in washington state,and was by chance in a club,to where a girl picked me up,come the end of the evening she asked would i like to go back to her home for coffee,i said thats very kind of you and off we went,a little while latert she said have you ever played hurricanes before,i replied no,well its quite easy she said,and sent me into the bathroom for a bucket of water,i returned and she was lying on the bed completely naked legs set to 8.30,she said i want you to flick the water over my body now that will represent the rain,well i was flicking the water and then she said now i want you to open and slam the door that will repesent the thunder,well i was flicking the water opening and slamming the door,she then said now i want you to turn the light off and on,well i turned the light off and on flicked the water open and slammed the door,after a while i said look love im going to have to leave,i cant fuck in this weather.

See this was funny,

I laughed for quite some time I find it to be british Humor and if I remember correctly it was a Benny Hill Joke only without the naughty words. I may be wrong but I've heard it before by a famous older comedian.

I just think people aren't getting it.

Of if they are just don't have a British Sense of Humor

I love the british. Especially the way they make the english language sound like it didn't come from their shores.

Most of the British humor (or would that be humour) that I have encountered comes in the form of Shakespeare. I've taken in my share of Monty Python and Benny Hill (love the take off on it in the movie Vendetta) but never watched either regularly. If this is funny I must be missing something because I just don't get it.

I think this is quite clever and amusing ... there is a perception in the english speaking world (excluding the USA) that the 'yanks' don't have a sense of humour or at least lack an understanding of the subtleties of the humour at which the British are masters. (note the real british grammar there ...)

and i'm guessing those that don't get this anecdote are from the US, and so prove it.

There is so much humour that just doesn't cross the atlantic in either direction. The acceptance of blood and gore and the almost (sexyually) prudish outlook by the USA (media) vs the English/european frown on graphic violence and acceptance of nudity/sexuality/BDSM(origin?) in the mainstream, may have something to do with the cultural differances outside the USA. - who knows!
