hey there,

i could go search this up, but personal experience is much more valuable.

so, for those that have -

a) how much does it hurt, also clit hood piercing, and....
b) is there a pleasure aspect to it during sex

id really like to know all about this from the piercee's point of view... and id really appreciate your input.

so, thanks in advance .x

i tried to have my hood peirced however there wasnt enough skin there for the guy to pinch it with those tong thingys. so i ended up getting my lip down...not the one on my face...lol!  honestly what hurt was the tongs grabbing it.  i wouldnt look down but, i said to the guy are you almost done? and he said it is done, im just putting the ball on. i was like WHAT???? REALLY??? THATS IT???? it didnt hurt but a very small amount. it was more uncomfortable being exposed to a stranger but Bear was with me the whole time.  i got it done 10 years ago and would definately not be affraid to get another one.
just get some bactine and spray it everytime you go to the bathroom, moving the ring around. use dial antibacterial soap to wash down there a few times a day. one more thing...it was really hard to wear anything that had a seam in the crotch (jeans) for about 2-3 weeks.
i hope this helps you out.

some background on my reply

I am a lesbian
I am not a masochist

I have a labia piercing, I would NEVER do it again because of the pain, but I would do it again because its really pretty.. *grin*

I had it done by a very good friend who is an amazing piercer, and because it was to mark an important stage in my life.

I would guess, if I were having hetero sex, as in a man inserting his penis, he might enjoy the friction that might come from the bead on my ring... you'd have to ask someone who's had sex with someone with a labia piercing.

The clit hood is something I've heard (I have NO first hand experience with it) mixed stuff about.. more stimulation and less.

As an aside, I love letting people in on my labia piercing as my exterior is very conservative most days.. *grin*

good luck, go to a very reputable piercing -- placement in conjunction with your own anatomy is very important

schoenekitty -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 1:31:41 PM)

I don't know about labia piercings but I used to have a verticle clit hood piercing. There is so little skin there that it actually hurts less than an ear piercing and feels OH MY GOD so good. I once had an orgasm while studying for a test just because I happened to rock my legs. Unfortunaly I didn't wait long enough to have sex after getting the piercing so it didn't heal right and I had to take it out. I plan on getting it repierced on Saturday though. If you're interested in piercings for pleasure you may also want to look into triangle piercings because they are supposed to be more pleasurable than VCH's. I also plan on getting one of those but I'm not sure when as it is a slightly more major piercing and I'm admittedly a little scared...

Hope this helped :)

clearshooter -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 1:51:52 PM)

Well, I'm a guy with nipple and penis piercings and would do both again in a heartbeat.  This site has some good information, www.bmezine.com and as was stated a reputable piercer is a must!

a) I have an outer labia piercing and it hurt like nothing I've ever felt (before that point and since then). I have thick labia and I could literally feel every layer of flesh ripping as he tried to get the needle through my lips. I don't regret it one bit, and I'd do it again (and may in fact one day be told to get additional ones) - but it did hurt godawfully.

b) In general it doesn't do that much during sex - there are some exceptions, including depending on how we are having sex having a lock hanging from the rings and tugging and swinging can be very pleasurable. Similarly, using something to hold my lips open tied around my thighs gives the same kind of tugging sensation. Its not remotely enough to make me orgasm, but I think it adds something. Not to mention with a fair amount of frequency, he locks me shut with the labia rings which is a really pleasant way to spend the day.

Hope that helps,
C~

Edited to add: I had forgotten that I wrote up a description of the experience shortly afterwards that you can find at:

mistoferin -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 2:16:05 PM)

I would think the pain would be dependent upon whether or not you have the minora or majora done.

I'm not a good one to ask on the pain level of the clit hood. My ex did mine and lost the jewelry about halfway through.....and worked to push it through for about 3 hours before he finally untied me. I then got up and got a razor knife and finished the piercing myself. Yeah, my clit was about the size of a baseball by then. All worked out well though and it "felt" like it was completely healed by the next day. I still took all of the necessary precautions though for the next few weeks.

Does it add to sexual arousal? Oh hell YES! I've had it nearly 10 years and sometimes I still have to stop for a minute while I'm walking. When I first got it I used to get off all the time walking or changing positions in a chair.

michelleryder -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 2:16:51 PM)

My Labia is pierced and didn't hurt neither did my clit hood piercing. They were done by a professional so maybe I got lucky that she was good at her job. Although i dont have it any more the clit hood really used to enhance things I'd recommend it to anyone. The labia piercings are mostly a visual thing although I sometimes wear my dog tag on them and he sometimes padlocks them if he takes a mood to.

lally3 -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 2:21:33 PM)

shoenekitty - have to admit i was a bit confused - even allowing for hormone replacement it was hard to imagine how anyone so obviously male could have a vertical clit piercing...  - [sm=lol.gif]

hmm, well, thanks for everyones input - my initial reaction was '!',    [sm=hardlimit.gif]    '!'  but, well, im starting to warm up to it.

danae -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 2:28:00 PM)

resounding endorsement to clearshooter's comment : research your piercer first.  find someone who will discuss your  personal anatomy to know what is going to work rather than just piercing what you think you want.  triangle piercings are very difficult to fit; they cross a great deal of very important nerves you do NOT want to interfere with!

i have a vertical clit-hood piercing that did not require a clamp in process, because the woman doing the piercing had experience and skill for free-hand piercing.  we talked about what i wanted, why, what i wanted it to look like, what i hoped it should feel like..  we had a personel connection for the process which i am grateful for.

also, it IS NOT recommended any longer that you use anti-bacterial products, as they are harsh and interfere with the natural healing process.  find someone who talks about using gentle soaps and salt water during the healing process..

take your time, and enjoy the process: the net effect, whether for aesthetics or erotic pleasures, are very, very cool ;>
best of luck.

I'm glad you asked the question, lally, because this is something my Master has been considering.  My only real concern about it is that I bike ride, and I wonder if a labia piercing and bicycle riding are a compatible pair, or if I could injur the pierced area.  Does anyone know anything about that - or about other activities that should be considered?

lally3 -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 2:47:47 PM)

seems a professional piercing is in order........ owchy yewww mistoferin - i admire youre determination, but DAMN!

ownedgirl you bring up a salient point, i enjoy riding my horse without the risk of falling off during an explosive orgasm and/or the need for a rubber ring - quite apart from alarming the horse and the friend i ride out with, and the amusement factor (well, possible amusement factor) presumably it could do some serious harm - maybe we'd have to remove the jewellry before embarking!

LOL I just had a vision of those commercials long ago, when tampons were first becoming popular - "I can even swim with them!"  [:D]

Sit back more on your rump to avoid embarrassing unpredictable orgasm.  When you alone lean a bit forward go at a nice trot and yea its gonna be a nice day!![:D]

Madame4a -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 2:58:07 PM)

I think having explosive orgasms while riding a horse or bike is likely going to take a bit of work, so little danger there.. or not.. if not.. wow, more power to you!

I don't bike ride and I don't ride horses regularly but I have.  I ride a motorcyle regularly... I've ridden horses some since I got pierced... and actually I've been on a bicycle since I've been pierced too..

so.. I'll say, for my labia piercing there are sometimes when the ring just doesn't sit right and I have to kind of adjust... but its not overly painful, just uncomfortable.  Anyone who knows me well and sees my face says.. "piercing?" and I laugh and adjust a bit... I wear relatively tight jeans and such... so you could likely cure that with looser ones

when I was healing, I remember it being very tender the first week or two, but after that it was fine... take the piercer's advice on when you can have sex and do other stuff, that's really important...

Wildfleurs -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 2:58:22 PM)

FR~

With the outer labia piercing I'm able to ride a bicycle without a problem (maybe an occasional tugging on the ring). It took a little while before I felt comfortable getting on a bicycle (I think it was several months later), just because I was anal retentive about it.

I do agree with everyones comments about getting a good piercer - I had a great one who was an EMT to boot, but I also think its important to think about what your anatomy looks like. I have pretty thick outer labia so it wasn't easy but the minute the piercing was over and the jewelry was in I never had any more pain. I've also heard that inner labia are easier painwise, but you can't hang as much weight (like hanging locks or other things that my owner hangs off my rings). But I wouldn't let concerns about pain stop you - the pain is temporary (if done right), but the piercing is there for life (hopefully)!

C~

ownedgirlie -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 3:04:03 PM)

Thanks for the great info about bike riding!  I was really concerned about that, as I have recently begun to really get into riding.  I have riding shorts, with all the internal padding, so maybe that will help considerably, too. Whew!  [:)]

Madame4a -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 4:09:16 PM)

I agree about the pain, it was only when the piercing was happening but once the jewelry was in and I looked at it... the pain was gone...

kiwisub12 -> RE: labia piercing. (6/2/2008 4:26:24 PM)

My Sir pierced my labia - inner - one on either side.          It hurt like hell!!!!!
The upside is that they look great - i have larger rings so my Sir can see them when i am naked around the house.
I showered twice a day for the first week after my piercings , and had no trouble with healing.
When i am dressed i occasionally have to adjust my self as well, as they get twisted. Not a really pleasant feeling.

I love them - even when they twist.  I would not like to take them out.
