Seems very odd to me that McCain has given no indication so far as to who is even on his short list of vice presidential candidates to run with him.  (Man, a vote for McCain is almost certainly a vote for his successor in office..he is just an antique).

Also seems strange to me that no such information has been forthcoming from Obama, who seems to have the  Democratic nomination locked up, or from Clinton, who might be looking for ways to increase her support at the grass roots level.

Am i wrong or don't we usually have some idea who is being considered by this point in the election cycle?

Condoleeza Rice?  No idea...don't really care one way or another.
Oue part in this election ended yesterday.  From here on out its in the delegates hands
not ours.  We're just observers.

No, it's rather common for them to take their time on choosing a VP.  We still have 5 more months until the election.  McCain and Obama already have a list, trust me.  Right now, they are both talking to people on that list.

many times it's the person who ran second in the party nomination process that gets the VP nod.  It's not time yet.

Dann, the man looks better at 72 then Regan did at 70 (which was how old he was when he took office in 1981, age didn't seem to be such an issue 4 years later).
