Dnomyar -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/5/2008 8:24:54 AM)

OK I will bite. What photo???????????

passub -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/5/2008 8:47:14 AM)

Are folks really so shallow, that when contact some one, they go on looks alone, need a photo,
not concerned with their profile, or the person, background, experienice but just wha!!! they look like.

One presumes that folks then are not seeking a relationship but a quick thrill knee trembler.
But to go on looks alone and basically ignore de rest of the profile.
Hey!!! thats news, thankx for that revelation.

As for posting a photo, if posting one, wear sun-glasses, or with back to camera or abscure
yer head in same - unless ye are free and breezy and have no problem with full face photo.

darchChylde -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/5/2008 8:50:37 AM)

hehe... that inspired a term in my mind... full-facial nudity

sounds like a requirement to me

Does that mean that people must take off their piercings as well? [;)]

In any event, I think my decision is to keep my face off of here for the time being until I am fully able to embrace this lifestyle choice, but to be willing to share with those whom ask/trust.

In any event, my primary photo says much more about who I really am than a face of just another asian kid.

Thanks for all your input! Really!

ShaktiSama -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/5/2008 10:51:43 AM)

The photos on a profile are informative in many ways.  The photo you're currently using is a nice nature shot and shows that you are young, in reasonably good shape, outdoorsy and have black hair.  But there is also a lot of subcoscious data coming across in the fact that your back is turned and your body is drawn up.  You're showing me the most defended part of your body, hiding your face, abdomen and throat, and closing me off from you--a pose like that can read as disengaged, absorbed in self and possibly defensive, and not really open to contact.

I can see why you might get a lot less mail with this photo.  People learn a lot by looking at one another's faces and body language.  Here we can't see your face, and your body language has a touch of "go away, leave me alone".

MsStarlett -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/5/2008 4:36:21 PM)

Hmmm.... I don't see it that way at all.  Maybe it's because I enjoy going to the mountains to clear my own head.  I find the shot more contemplative.   To me, it conveys a young man searching, or looking for something.  Someone who needs a little peace and tranquility, either physically, mentally or emotionally.  But then, Good Photography work is like art... it means different things to different people.

I read myself into it because I do the same thing.  When 'life' gets to be to much for me... I go sit on a big rock and look out over the mountains and the river and just listen to the quite.

TermsConditions -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/5/2008 4:44:47 PM)

And it looks like there is plenty of room for someone sit beside him. "What is he looking at?" You'd just have to walk over and see.

There's room for 2 more actually... [;)]

I have always enjoyed photography since middle school... although I've never been "big" on analizing photos. ShaktiSama, MsStarlett, and TnC have all posed good points of view, that I hadn't even considered when I posted the photo. It is just one of my happier memories doing my hiking and outdoorsy bit.

It is true that I am not "openly" offering myself to any self-proclaimed "Domme" even if they were established with a long list of references. I personally think my posture is that of one who is "waiting" and contemplative, yet open to new ideas that lie off on the horizon. The journey is not a "straight-line" rather filled with many ups and downs (and yes, fallen trees to act as obstructions). Perhaps I am just waiting for someone to take the journey with me to the horizon? Not even I have the answer to that one... but isn't that photo more interesting than just another mugshot? I'd like to think so....[:D]

then come out from behind your facial hair sweet pea!

MsStarlett -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/7/2008 4:40:29 AM)

Ahhh.... but men hiding behind hair can be so HOT!  I selected my favorite, long running, roller coaster, internet affair sub because I caught him peeking at me from behind his hair at a party.  When he knows he's really ticked me off, he sends me pics of himself hiding in his hair... like this one:

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii172/MsStarlett/Subs/Nik3.jpg

He KNOWS full well that I adore his blue eyes and long brown curls.  He also knows that I can never stay angry with him for more than a couple of months.  Such a damed BRAT!

BTW - for long haired men or women - that's a great shot for 'non-identifying' pics.  Obscuring parts of the face with hair - or hats - or whatever is pretty hot - IM(not so)HO

Celeres -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/7/2008 9:45:46 AM)

Being Asian... not much facial hair until retirement... haha

khantengri -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/8/2008 3:36:59 AM)

I don't put my photo up on the internet simply because I feel that there is no meaningful reason to do so, and I don't desire to draw more attention to my physical attributes than I already do.

If a person is not going to read what I'm writing because I have no photo.. then it's no loss to me.

SweetNika -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/8/2008 3:45:02 AM)

A photo tells alot about a person, more than what physical attributes they have or don't have.

blessed be,
Nika

A photo or a photo of a person's facial features? =) Just curious! Can you maybe expand a bit more? A bit confused about what you really mean... thanks!

I don't think a photo has to be of a person's face or even of them to tell you something about them.

Ah, i see. Just so you guys know, (for those who haven't looked at my profile for some scenic shots), this thread has refueled my love in photography. SLR, here I come! =)

I'm sorry to hear about your photo AZ... =/ I hope you can find a suitable replacement! (What was the reason behind the denial, if I may ask?)

azropedntied -> RE: Photos in Profile (6/8/2008 1:21:14 PM)

See that is what is Odd to me , upon adding new pics i ooops and hit the wrong button on the main pic that has been up for a long time , i re -did that same pic and it was turned down  when it had been my main pic for quite some time . It does not make sense to me .I do now know not to mess with the main picture if this gets all straightened out in the future , as with no main pic the additional pictures do not appear .

But they give you a reason why they turned it down right?

Or perhaps the file is too big? (can be denied because it exceedes the server allocation transfer size)--not sure how "big" is too big according to CM.

Or did they say your photo is "inappropriate"? At which point, they'll give you a reason why it's been turned down...
