A little old lady and a little old man sat in their living room watching t.v. The man stands up and begins to walk toward the kitchen.
He pauses and turns toward his wife. "I'm going to the kitchen now." She smiles and nods.
"Do you want anything," he inquires.
She ponders it a moment and nods again. "Vanilla ice cream sounds wonderful."
He repeats it once or twice. "Anything else?"
"Maybe some chocolate sauce on top," she says.
"Vanilla and chocolate," he repeats. "Alright. Anything else?"
"Are you sure you don't want to write this down? You're going to forget," she says.
"No, no. I'll remember," he mutters. "In that case, add a cherry," she adds.
And into the kitchen he goes.
He's gone an awfully long time.
He returns to the living room with orange juice, oatmeal, cereal, waffles and milk. While assembling it on a few t.v. trays she shakes her head with a small smile.
"I just knew you'd forget the toast."
