engage people in conversation, typically online, and just wait until a fantasy becomes thick enough to start writing.

you don't need to see them to picture them, just find someone that shares your interests and make new friends, find new fantasies, you can always expand them into full stories later
or be lazy like me and leave them in poems...

sometimes it just takes one to get you going again and things just flow out of writing after that

Oh yes, I get creative block all the time. My photos as well as my writing.
When I do block, the first thing I do is read soething as far from teh topic I write about as I can. That usually helps, I stop thinking so hard and itll come back to me.

I write quite often and I never get writers block. You have to open yourself up to inspiration. Since you write erotica just pick any object or activity and try to eroticize it, for example, a cup of coffee.

"The smoothness of the handle shocked my fingertips with it's coolness as my eye traced the gentle curve falling back on itself. There was a stark contrast from the naked rim to the hot, black liquid within and the heady scent of the fresh perk wafted up permeating my nostrils which caused them to flare ever so slightly. My mouth watered with anticipation at the same time that my lips quivered just a bit in fear of the heat which would soon assualt them.

I wrapped my hands around the girth of the vessel, letting the sensation warm them for a moment before bending my head just so and blowing slightly across the top of the cup causing small, dark ripples to form along the surface. I couldn't help but inhale even more deeply of the rich scent and when I could longer contain myself I tilted the cup and drank of the sweetened blackness, feeling it's hotness trickle down the back of my throat. I closed my eyes, let my head fall back just a bit and basked in the pleasure of the brewed bean. I tucked a leg underneath me, took another sip and reached for the daily paper. Is there a better way to start the morning? Perhaps."

Okay, so erotica isn't my strong suit, but you get the idea. To get past writers block, you just have to keep on writing. Good luck!

It takes passion to write porn.  Do something to inspire your passion.  Do something that scares you!  That ought to get your juices flowing.

Try porn… I mean wild porn… nuns and shemale midgets with donkeys and amputees getting it on with flying monkeys type of stuff.  My fav porn is Bridget The Midget in a BDSM scene with a guy about 7 feet tall.

maybe if you got rid of the S/slashyspeak W/when Y/you W/write it would help?

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Writer's Block (6/5/2008 6:03:40 AM)

There are exercises out there to help with dragging your Muse back from sabbatical.  I'm too lazy, and too short of time to list them, but if you do some research, you will find massive amounts of resources at your fingertips.  It should keep you pretty busy for quite some time, but learning is the fun part right?  Get on it girl....your Muse is enjoying a lazy vacation somewhere at your expense.  That is simply unacceptable.

hizgeorgiapeach -> RE: Writer's Block (6/5/2008 6:05:39 AM)

I get both Writer's Block and Painter's Block on a fairly regular basis.  Best way I've personally found to deal with it is to set that project aside for a few days and work on something else instead.

(btw Bitw, I want YOUR coffee, damnit - mine never inspires like that LOL)

JohnWarren -> RE: Writer's Block (6/5/2008 6:11:08 AM)

I've been a professional writer for most of my life so writer's block is a big problem,   It happens with fiction, it happens with how-to, It happens with news stories, The best thing I have found is not to reward onesself.  That means no trips to the park, no hanging around chatting with friends, no good food.

Keep writing.  It may not be good but eventually you'll be able to extract something from it.  I hate editing, so when I block I add editing to my workload.  Usually, I don't let myself stop until I've written two thousand acceptable words per day and done two hours of editing.  When I block, the number goes to three and three hours.

Eventually, the subconscious throws up its hands and you're flowing again.

Try writing down the ideas, concepts and images in your mind as they occur to you first, then go back and start organizing them.  Carry a notebook around with you for those moments of suddden inspiration.
