I've long been interested in the BDSM scene and the community surrounding it but I am still fairly new and inexperienced. I am moving to Japan in a few months and will be living there for quite a few years. I was wondering if any have experience or knowledge of the scene/community over there and would be willing to offer advice. I will be in a very foreign culture where the opportunity for misunderstanding is even higher than normal BDSM gatherings. If any know of any resources I would appreciate it, I will be living near Kyoto/Osaka.

Okay my only advice is to stay away from the kink fetish clubs because they are nothing more than girlfriends for hire sure they will do as you ask but you pay for it.

As for BDSM Social Clubs they have them there however the culture is such that most who attend are already couples. I will say that according to a friend who was there for just over a year in Osaka they did not have Munches they did have private Gatherings but it was very different than the states and the only thing that he could say was definably different was it seemed more brutal to him, like the girls weren't doing it because they liked it.

Now don't take my word for it mine is all second hand but I'm sure if you google BDSM Osaka Munches or Bondage Clubs you will get better information than I can offer.

Just remember to stay away from the fetish clubs or it can be costly.
