Once you go black you never go back.

Usako -> RE: Font Color (6/5/2008 9:22:58 PM)

Well the whole T/them Y/you thing and the uncaptalized word I is enough to give me a headache. The huge font in bright colors doesn't help. Neither does the chat speak...

Purple is nice...but it's still huge.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Font Color (6/5/2008 9:29:16 PM)

How many threads about your font do you plan on starting?

If you're taking a poll, i like purple.  i think it's pretty and it's easy on the eyes.  The lettering seems a little large and bold but, hey, it's your choice and there are plenty of others who use large, bold fonts.

In the end, it's your choice.  This site gives a lot of color choices.  If they wanted everyone to type in the same exact color and style, why would they give us all the options of font type, size and sooooooo many colors?

i say, "Express yourself any way you like."

oh dear.  i use the uncapitalized i all the time.  i dont capitalize my sentences either, or apostrophes. . . and i use ellipses.  ah well

i do like the purple better than the pink.  maybe darker and 1 size smaller?

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Font Color (6/5/2008 9:47:36 PM)

Purple is easier on the eyes.

It is a nice gesture, to have taken the input of others and made changes.  Now if you tone it down just a bit with a slightly smaller font, it won't be so 'in  your face' and maybe people will focus on what you are saying instead of how boldly you are screaming it at them.  It is somewhat akin to how typing in all caps is considered screaming in certain chatrooms.  It just makes for an unnecessary distraction.

Good luck with things.

Ok, all kidding aside... here's what I think...

It doesn't really matter what other people think.  How much are you going to accomodate people?  How else are you going to rearrange your life for others?  If it makes you happy, do it.  You can't make everybody happy.

Case in point... I have allergies to certain perfumes... I know this but i don't expect people to change their perfumes for me.  I have one girlfriend who asked me why I rarely hug her, so I told her... Cause it's hard for me to breathe around her.  So SHE CHOSE to change her perfume when she knew she would see me.  Why?  because hugging me was more important than her perfume.  I didn't ASK her to change, she did it on her own.

You have asked people what they think... they've told you... now make your own decision and let it go already.

Dangit, why aren't I a Domme or at least a switch so I could order somebody to get me a dirty martini?  *growls.

Didn't realize there were mindreaders in the forums, sun....

Light and Pale fonts are difficult to read against a white background - the blue that I use is almost to pale.  The enlarged font is annoying, but not nearly as annoying as the poor grammer, constantly slashed words, and consistant use of improper capitalization.

But that's just lazy/not caring/not knowing. Still annoying (since I'm a Grammar Nazi) but not the same thing that I meant.

The "i" in this case is because a sub/slave doesn't think they're "worth" (or whatever reason) captalizing their name or a pronoun referring to themselves. The same goes to the whole He/he crap. A capital he? Why? Because you're a dom? No excuse to butcher the English language! He is not a special word, it's a pronoun. Now, if said dom's name was used then yes...we need to capitalize the first letter.

And I could go on...but I won't. I'm just a Grammar Nazi and certain things irk me. I, personally, don't feel that BDSM is an excuse to abuse any language. (Yes, if you did it in Spanish with T/tu I'd be annoyed too...)

Actually...hgp, your font is extremely hard for me to read and I almost always skip over your posts which is a shame because the few times I've read them I've enjoyed your posts

dun like it. Annoying.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Font Color (6/6/2008 4:25:06 AM)

When did dun become a word for anyone over 12 years old?

camille65 -> RE: Font Color (6/6/2008 4:26:58 AM)

The purple makes it much much easier to read. I don't have to squint now!

GreedyTop -> RE: Font Color (6/6/2008 5:30:10 AM)

what I find interesting is that, despite the umpteen posts saying that the color was annoying (and we wont even mention any other repeated comments about other stuff), it was 2 emails that sparked this change..

*sigh*
