I have an HP laptop that's about 7 months old.  The other day, it stopped picking up the internet connection from my wireless router.  I get a "local connection only, no interent connection" message..
Here is what I tried:
First the obvious:
*reboot computer
*turn radio off and on
*delete wireless network and rediscover
*update the adapter driver (I have an aircard)..

Before I wound up uninstalling the wireless router and reinstalling it, I had my ex try to get on my wireless while he was over to see if it was my computer or the router.  He had no problems getting on the wireless network using his laptop.

So, it's my Vista laptop..
I tried to restore it the last known good configuration, but that failed too..

Any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem so tested the adapter as a last resort and discovered it was fried. Once I popped the new adapter in everything went back to normal and I haven't had a problem since.

We have several computers so I took one of the adapters from The Man Unit and popped it into my system and everything booted up. I took my adapter popped it into his lappy and.. no connection. Put his adapter back into his lap, got the connection back, took my adapter replaced into mine and.. no connection again. The new adapter has never failed.

Btw: My Vista was also around 6 or 7 months old when that happened.
