47/50 - damn!  I knew I was having trouble with principal/principle and further/farther.  But even by 50/50 odds, I could've gotten them right, damn.  (Actually, I'm iffy about affect/effect, too, but I must have guessed correctly, ha.)

But the one correct answer that still sounds totally wrong to me, is #5.

I guess I need to study more on talkin good.

Ernst Mayer, called the Darwin of modern evolutionary biology, died this week.  He was killed by a bigger, stronger evolutionary biologist.

Just an aside: it is a violation of the board rules to hijack a thread.  Thread drift is one thing, but outright hijacking is not allowed.

i supose this was directed to me.
ok Doll...i'm outta here

Go back and re-read the post.  i was still editing when you quoted me and that portion of my post was deleted.

i have trouble proofreading my own writing.  i think i'm finally finished and then, when i read the post, i find stuff that still needs correction.

This means s'times i'm misquoted.  It's a pain but i do the best i can to complete proofreading before hitting the 'ok' button.

The deletion was not directed at you, sirholly.  i hope you decide to stick around.

Well actually it says confine hijacking to polls and random stupidity section.

I can read your font fine.

MadameMarque -> RE: Test Y/yr Grammar (6/7/2008 4:21:40 AM)

...this is a really handy site, too, where the test is posted.  Very straightforward reference for grammar, spelling, vocabulary.  http://www.grammarbook.com/english_rules.asp

That test was fun! I really wish they had explained why certain answers were right and some were not. The few I found tricky I would have enjoyed to read why the answer was what they said it was.

42/50 - I need to brush up on my grammar rules!

I obviously have ADD, the first thing I did was answer 5 questions, scrolled to see how many were left and decided I didn't want to spend anymore time on it.  Is there a shorter version for challenged people?

chamberqueen -> RE: Test Y/yr Grammar (6/7/2008 7:10:19 AM)

I'm another 37/50.  When I saw the answers I could see that I should have caught most of the mistakes.  I didn't check thoroughly enough, though frankly I believe that there was more than one correct answer on two of them.
