CMail Filters - Suggestions - 6/7/2008 7:11:54 AM

I would really like some new filters added to CMail.

First, I'd like to be able to filter messages by activity type.  Example:  I do not find crossdressing appealing (I don't care if you do it, it just won't be done in my home).  Therefore, I'd like to be able to filter anyone who lists crossdressing as a "love" or "lives for" into my junk mail, while those who list it as a "like" or "curious about" can still message me so long as they can live without it.

Second, I'd like to see a filter for poor spelling, text speech, slashy speech.  If a message contains excessive amounts of any combination of those three, they too would be booted to my junk box.  I understand some people 'think' slashy speech is polite, I understand people make typos, and the occasional 'txt style msg' is fine.  Excessive usage is difficult to read and annoying.  So, if the filter can be tailored to allow for minor instances of the three, yet capable of filtering out excessive usage, that would be wonderful.

Do any of you have any filters you would like to see implimented?

This isn't a serious thread, so please, have fun with it.  I would however, love to see it remain on topic for at least a page :D.

I do, but I have to run for a little while, and will post what I think they are later.

In real life, i have no filters set.  i was here for quite awhile before i realised i had a 'Bulk Mail' collection.  Some of my F/friends were there because i had set the filters a little carelessly.

Lemme see...what more would i like to be able to use to set the filters?

Checked to see what's on offer now.

'No Profiles; Out of State; Other Countries; Male; Female; Couples; Older Than [ ]; Younger than [ ].'

So, armed with this information, i considered what else i might want.

'Looking for wanker material; Sneaking around trying to cheat on My [ ]; Onyourkneesbitch; Misspelled the name of the state or city I live in.'

He  he -- pictures the CollarMe IT P/pl trying to program these new filter settings.

Well the best is already available called the block which ends future emails from those that wish to harass you simply because they disagree.....I have used a couple of times including today

Yeah, block works, but you have to read part of it first before blocking it...blech.  Call me lazy, I want CM to block it before I open it

A hit and run filter ...where if someone sends you an email and then blocks you from responding ...that their  email will self destruct

OH! I think that is now top on my list.  Great one!

edited to add:  Any chance that we can have it self destruct the inbox or computer of the sender instead of just the message?

instead of self destruction of  their inbox...i prefer a bit of slow torture ....have them spammed with a continous  string of  viagra  and porno ads

What did you have in mind, GreedyTop?

Maybe an online I.Q. test score as a prerequisite for even joining CollarMe?  What would be the lowest acceptable score?

Nice.  That could work for those who aren't already being spammed that way.

Sadly, I don't find much correlation with idiot-itis and IQ.  I've known many with IQs well over 140 who were far more idiotic than some with IQs under 90.  So, the criteria would likely need to be in tune with one's definition of idiot.  I like the idea of AI CM filters, the filters learning your preferences as you go.

Dear Domin8tingUrDrmz,

I think you may have filtered yourself out of your own email

Implemented

Cool, I don't really email myself anyway.   So, I forgive myself.

Yea, no doubt about it.  'Block' is one of CollarMe's best features.

i have used it myself in the case of persistent and annoying Men.

My, my.

Feeling a little stymied Maya?

Yanno, CollarMe is just a web site, with a mesage board and stuff.  It may be yr favorite web site, but it is still just a site.

i made a resolution, long ago, never to suffer 'net stress.

If a web site is bringing me down, i simply depart.  S'not like there aren't enough other web sites around.

Like a lot of P/pl, i have taken 'breaks' from CollarMe in the past, when chat or the message  boards or even email has raised my stress level.  S'times, even a brief hiatus can do wonders.
